Before the pandemic most MSL/HCP engagements and advisory boards were in-person. Then during the pandemic, we largely moved to synchronous virtual — aka, we conducted our in-person engagements on Zoom. Now as we start to look beyond the pandemic, innovative Medical Affairs teams are exploring alternatives to traditional engagements including platforms that allow asynchronous or “over time” engagement: KOLs interact with platforms and with each other on their own time, receiving information and offering feedback outside the model of a group discussion. This podcast sponsored by Impetus Digital explores the opportunities and benefits of platforms that deliver asynchronous engagement, noting dramatic increases in HCP/KOL participation and cost-per-word.

Medical Affairs teams are no longer only a conduit of information from the organization to external stakeholders. Now, in addition to speaking, Medical Affairs knows how to listen. The things Medical Affairs hears in its interactions with healthcare providers, policy makers, and other thought leaders can form the basis of an insight: An "aha!" moment that can drive strategic decisions and actions. But what is an insight and what is just an observation? With the recent explosion of insights data, it can be hard to tell! In this podcast sponsored by Larvol, we speak with Medical Affairs insights experts about how to manage this flow of information back to the organization and how to help actionable insights float to the top of the information ocean.
Traditionally, most Medical Affairs interactions were in person, whether at scientific congresses, external education events, or through Field Medical interactions with healthcare providers and other thought leaders. Then during the pandemic, almost all interactions went virtual. And now we are emerging into a period of hybrid interactions — some external stakeholders prefer FTF, while others have seen the benefit in virtual engagements. In this podcast sponsored by Alucio, MAPS speaks with Medical Communications experts about this new hybrid environment and how content strategy can support the interactions of Field Medical, External Education, Medical Info and other functions within Medical Affairs.
Medical Affairs has always been positioned to find meaning in big data and now social media presents another place to look. How can Medical Affairs teams leverage social media to discover thought leaders? Are there insights hidden in online conversations? In this podcast sponsored by IQVIA, we speak with Tanmay Saraykar, Director of Social Media Insights at IQVIA, about these topics and more.
