Recently, I had the privilege of being on the “In Church Podcast” to talk about mental health and its role within the church. Too often, I feel that we, as the church, tend to overlook people’s mental health struggles, offering solutions like memorizing more scripture or simply “praying through.” While these practices are valuable, I believe we sometimes resort to them because we lack the understanding and education needed to properly address these deeper needs.
If you are a pastor or lead in any capacity within a church, I challenge you to invest in someone on your staff who can provide support for these issues. While I firmly believe that Jesus is the answer, there’s absolutely no shame in seeking counseling or gaining practical tools to manage mental health. I hope this message resonates with you!
