I think we can all agree that the online marketing space (personal brands, coaches etc) has a bias towards specific privilege and people living in bodies with those privilege.
This episode, we’re breaking down the immensely important topic of how certain body types, racial identities and abilities are more "acceptable" and "allowed" to be visible and market their work, or to be on stages delivering keynotes or creative endeavours.
Navigating growth as a coach, thought leader or creative and really, any kind of human…. is challenging at the best of times, but what if you also have a strong inner critic?
Not being seen is a deep wound for many, wanting to be seen is a deep desire for many, and being seen can bring up some big feelings and embodied survival responses that can be really challenging to manage … what a conundrum.
- What happens when our desire to be seen is greater than our capacity (trauma)?
- How seeing ourselves is an important step towards being seen by others.
Finding the courage to be in your brilliance isn't always the easiest thing to do... systemic narratives and personal lived experience might say "that's not safe" ~ and so we hold back, turn our flame down, suppress what we really want to say.
In a world where women give so much of ourselves, we all "know" we "should" choose ourselves more often... but what happens when that feels impossible or overwhelming?
