How often do we see a need or an opportunity to serve, but we feel like we have to wait until we are ready to finally meet it? Through the Holy Spirit, God has already given us what we need in order to serve. What is required is a willingness to trust that the tools we already have been given are the right ones for the task.

So often we only imagine God as going after the people who want him or accept him, and everyone else is left alone. But what if that is not the case? What if we serve a God who is always coming after us, searching for us, and striving toward us even as we try to keep him at a distance? What kind of life does that present against what we are already living?

The Trinity is one of the core doctrines of the Christian faith, and Trinity Sunday is a time for the church to come together and reflect on this important idea of God. But what if instead of trying to put a label or definition to it, we strive to understand the impact it has in helping us to see and listen to God on a daily basis?

The Day of Pentecost is when the church celebrates its birth, about how God gifted the Holy Spirit to the disciples. But this gift of God is not for the church alone. It is a sign that the cosmos have changed, and the will of God and Jesus is being fulfilled with every action we take and friend we work with.

After everything we have seen and experienced in the Easter season, and after having seen the risen Lord, we are confused as to why he leaves us to continue our journey alone? The Ascension is a moment the church celebrates today, but also recognizes as being for the good of all believers- then and now.

Sometimes the resurrection is seen as an escape hatch from life, where we can escape the world and the realities we currently face. However, the resurrection is given to show that God is working and ruling right now in our time and in all our situations.

In the midst of certain controversial or taboo issues in politics and culture right now, it might be hard to see how the church can speak into those kinds of issues with love. But it is not until we face difficulties that the power of the resurrection becomes more evident in our lives.

The resurrection has the power to demonstrate the power of God, but it also has the power to unite and draw people into that new rule and life. As we witness the lives of others, we can see how far that unity and understanding can go in paving the way in following the gospel.

The resurrection is a moment by which all the powers in the world are revealed, where the limitations of sin are shown by what the power of God can do. When true freedom is realized as God comes into and speaks about our bad choices.

"If I don't see it, I won't believe it!" is the response many give when challenged about the validity of the resurrection. But in this Easter season we are challenged in our physical limitations, and made to see the miracles of God in a different way.
