This past April there was a social media discussion that erupted after a man named Dale Partridge posted a podcast or two or three, claiming that it is unbiblical for women to teach theology even to other women. This was a new take on the verses he founded this thought from, some of which are Titus 1:9, 1 Corinthians 11:3, 1 Timothy 2:11-14, 1 Corinthians 14:34-35, Ephesians 5:24-27, and so on.
Was he right? Or was he going too far? It threw a lot of people into confusion during the summer, including me. Diligent Christian women WANT to do the right thing, and may of us who emulate the Bereans (Acts 17:11) went back to double check.
Now Chris Hohnholz weighs in with a clear statement I found helpful. I add some tips of what to watch for on the negative side and the positive side before following somebody online

The passage in Matthew 8 is always astonishing when I read it. The passage I'm talking about is about the Gadarene demoniac. Our church elders are preaching through Matthew and we got to the Demoniac passage in Matthew 8:28-34. It's interesting to study demons, but two cautions: 1) many websites are also fascinated with the subject but tend to the sensational instead of the biblical, and 2) though it's a biblical subject satan would like nothing better than to ensnare you into a focus on him instead of on Jesus. Keep your eyes fixed upon Jesus. That said, let's take a quick look at what demons are and what they may be up to...

Two examples from life, one from the 1600s and one from the 2000s, of women who made a chose to take a stand for Christ amid pressure not to. They had courage.

We are allowed to be sad, there is much grief in the world. But we need to choose to stay on the sunny side of life, choose joy, choose to look at the brighter day, let us not allow our light to dim through excessive wallowing in sadness.

I look at two situations where two times the question was asked by those closest to Jesus, Lord, do you not care? I compare the two situations and offer what I hope are insights for us to have strength not to ask the same question.
