When should you call it quits on a creative endeavor? Sometimes it’s important to push yourself to accomplish great things, while other times it makes more sense to turn off the lights and  wrap things up. I guess you’ve got to “know when to hold ‘em, and know when to fold ‘em.”

This week's show is a less structured exploration of thoughts and issues, a lot of which center around what seems to be an emerging trend of Creator Ennui, which is very interesting to me as someone who recently broke through a few months of being in a creative funk.

That paragraph sounds very fancy, I wrote it real good.

Last week we dove into the world of retro cameras, so this week let's talk about the new stuff! I have a lot of thoughts about where Canon and Sony are headed, and now that I've used both for a while I have some genuine issues/concerns with Canon's approach.

The show also starts with a quick mic comparison! I'm using a "mystery mic" today, but I'm curious to see how you think it sounds and how it compares to other popular mics.

Over the past two months I've accumulated a number of interesting (and functioning!) "retro" camcorders, including the world's first camcorder with an interchangeable lens!

This week I want to take you on a journey through time to uncover some of the awesome stories that these cameras have to tell. This is a VERY visual episode, so if you want to see everything, you can join me over on Patreon for the video version.

Last week I stumbled across a Reddit post that shed some light on a side of YouTube & content creation that's less than wholesome" people being paid to leverage their influence without disclosing the fact that they're being paid.

It was a long post, so I want to break it down and dive in to see what this means for creators and viewers alike.

In 4 years of "doing YouTube" my thoughts on marketing have changed quite a bit. Is it something that's inherently bad, or can it be a tool for good? Heather joins the podcast this week to talk about some recent "revelations" I've had about the confusing world of marketing.
