Welcome to this week’s Entrepreneur Express Tip. Today is our Express Tip where I bring you a business tip in 5 minutes or less, and we are talking about finding your new rhythm. Everything changes with the shift into summer. Most of you are dual working households with children out there as you are growing your companies and families, so schedules are changing. So with all the added changes, you need to find a new rhythm. Embrace the new mode and find a different way to get things done so you can still enjoy the moments and the season with our kids, with our families, our teams, and not lose yourself. First, try to get ahead of yourself. Look at the week in advance and plan as much as you can. If you can’t get that far in advance, be sure to map out what's on the horizon at least 1 or 2 nights in advance. Look as far in advance as you possibly can and map out the details. Next, be sure you are communicating the details. For example, Me and Shawn have started a morning little blurb about what’s going on with Team Walter - where are the boys, what are their schedules, who’s with the boys, what my day looks like, etc. It really helps to round out the day to make sure things run smoothly. Communicate this plan as much as possible. Another important tip, simply take a step back and take a deep breath. Know that you will get it all done. It will figure itself out. Everyone out there is in crazy summer mode - it’s just a different speed. You can do this, and you are doing this. So find a new rhythm to get through it, continue to have fun, and continue to build your business. I am really proud of you. It fills my cup to know I am helping you and you are not feeling alone. Welcome to this week’s Express Tip on the Entrepreneur Evolution Podcast. For today’s Express Tip we are talking about saying yes inside your yes’s. Think about your A+++ clients - they are low maintenance, high profit clients. If you have worked with me and done some coaching, you know how we categorize different clients into high and low maintenance or profit. So think about your rockstar or dream clients. Step inside, and look at what you are saying “yes” to with these clients. Oftentimes you will do anything for these clients, they are amazing, and you want more of them. But, be aware of what we are saying yes to. Why? We have a tendency to say yes, bend boundaries and break rules, to accommodate them. What happens when you accommodate these A+++ clients outside of your typical protocol, process, and boundaries is that they start to become your non-favorites… C or D clients who are high maintenance and low profit. So if you are having an “aha” moment right now, guess what - we let that happen. We stepped out of our boundaries and bent the rules too many times. Take this time to think about who they are, re-align with them, and communicate in a fair manner so they respect and continue to respect your process, expertise, and offerings. Take a moment to zero-in on what’s the most important thing for you right now. It can be really hard to find your priorities when things are moving quickly, or when you are scattered. So ask yourself: what’s important now. How can you WIN in this situation. That might be focusing on family, your team, self-care, or whatever. Whatever it is that you need to focus on WIN-ning. Take time for that, keep on showing up, being consistent, staying focused. I’m really proud of you, and if we haven’t had the chance to have a one-to-one it is such a good time to do it. Today’s Friday Express Tip has been a common theme lately in our coaching sessions and in our group masterminds. People, business owners, entrepreneurs, are saying they need the next layer of their organization. But when that next layer of organization is built, what will I do? What will be my identity? So use this illustration to help you understand what your role is as the leader and owner of your company. Picture a huge elephant walking through very tall grass. Grass so tall that the elephant cannot see anything in front of it. There are lots of dangerous things out there unseen, snakes, tigers, and you're just trying to get to the village. You are standing on top of the elephant, and your team is down in the grass with the machetes chopping through the grass so the elephant can walk through it. Halfway up the elephant there are people hanging off it that can see a little bit over the grass, but not the village on the horizon. Your job, sitting on top of the elephant, is to tell them where to go, where they need to chop, where to steer. You are setting the vision and guiding them to where you need to go. Sometimes you go down to the ground to help others, but quickly go back on top of the elephant to steer where you are going. If you haven’t had a chance to jump back on top of the elephant, and you are down on the ground with the machete - get up out of the weeds, that's not your job. When you build those layers below you, when you let go of something in your business, you will see new things. Welcome to this week’s Express Tip. Today we are talking about setting your schedule for summer. Next weekend is Memorial Day weekend, and everything changes. The pace of business, schedules, sports and school, the weather - everything changes. So today I come to you with two tips to make sure you are having a productive and enjoyable summer. You CAN do both. I know it's hectic out there, and there is a lot of unknown with the space we are all in. I get it, I see it, I am here with you, my friend. So tip number one: take a look at your schedule and set some realistic expectations. Block out time on your calendar of when you want to work, when you can work, and when you need to work. Make sure you are compartmentalizing work time and playtime as best as possible. I know that it's 24/7 when you are an entrepreneur, but doing some tactical things like no meetings on Mondays, Zoom calls only on Wednesdays, or regrouping office time on Fridays can help. Really blocking out some time of how you want to work during the week and what type of work you want to be doing during the week can be crucial to your schedule, enjoyment, and the productivity for your summer. Now is the perfect time to look in advance, and communicate with everyone on your team. Tip number two is that I really encourage you to have creative think time. Get a fresh new journal, get a good app, start a new notes section on your phone. Put some things out there to start implementing in 2022. Encourage yourself, and compartmentalize time for you to get creative. Make sure you have the support to creatively get those juices dumped into an outlet to bring back to the office for your team. These tips will help make your summer very fun, very productive, very positive, and it will help you both personally and in your business. So that's my tip for today, Entrepreneur.
