🚫 Do you really have to be NICE and give yourself away to please others because you’re a business? 🤔
Someone pushed a client's boundaries today! They wanted to pick their brains about what they do, using that sly "I’m your friend" tone (despite being a competitor). 😒
You know me! I believe in fostering relationships with competitors, but I draw the line at sleazy...
❤️ "I'm your best mate, spill the beans..." vibe from brain pickers. 😒🚫
(You know the type, right? We may be nice and approachable, but we're not pushovers!) 🙅♀️
But hey, sometimes we struggle with setting boundaries...
From day one, women have been conditioned to be "good girls," always saying yes, and prioritizing others' needs over our own!
I'm here for you and my tribe of recovering people pleasers with blurry boundaries! 💪👯♀️
How do you know if you have boundary blur in business? 🤷♀️
✅ Say yes to every request, even when your schedule is packed.
✅ Put everyone else's needs before your own, leaving little time or energy for yourself.
✅ Seek constant validation from others, questioning your worth and decisions.
It's not your fault! We've been conditioned that way!
I get it! The pressure of feeling pulled, trying to be the good girl, please and help everyone while screaming "Nooo" inside SUCKS! 😫
When my client faced a cheeky request like that, I asked her 3 questions:
❶ Do you owe this person anything?
❷ What could happen if you give them what they want?
❸ What could happen if you don't?
Is it really worth your time and energy?
No one will do it for you.
If you don't have the time or energy to deal with this, who says you have to?
Build your walls! (Okay, sometimes they feel more like rotten posts, but keep building) 🧱💪
My boundaries are tested daily. I don't always manage to defend them, and that's okay! I take responsibility for that.
1️⃣ No coffee chats for brain-picking! If you want my expertise, book a call and pay for it! ☕💰
2️⃣ Prioritise messages: Clients first, leads second, and the rest may not get a reply unless it aligns with my values.
3️⃣ No phone calls unless there's an appointment or it's from a close friend or family member.
4️⃣ I don't check emails until after lunch.
5️⃣ I limit 1:1 clients to 5 per month.
6️⃣ My core program, Stable Foundations Hub PLUS, runs fortnightly to allow rest and avoid burnout. No live calls during school holidays (except for August, which includes mentoring calls and group support only). The lower price reflects this. 📆💤
