In order to understand the real message regarding Noah and the Ark, we need to look a little deeper into the scriptural account. In Noah’s story, there’s a message of hope and assurance, but there’s also a warning to us today because it demonstrates that God hates evil.

In the very beginning, God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him” (Gen. 2:18). Since we were created to live in relationships, it’s clearly not God’s plan that we suffer from loneliness.

The fact that the word peace is used 353 times in the Bible is a clear indication of its importance. Jesus told His disciples, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful” (John 14:27).

When we believe and obey what the Lord says in His Word, our faith grows stronger; but when we let our feelings and circumstances override our confidence in Him and His promises, our faith begins to waver.

We have two options in the Christian life—to walk either by faith or by sight. God wants us to depend on Him, trusting Him to direct our steps; one at a time, so we can reach the destination He’s planned for us.

When we’re facing fiery trials or difficult challenges, it’s important that we distinguish between a trial and a temptation. There are definitely times in life when our faith is on trial. How will we respond?

What burdens are you bearing today? What benefits would be yours if you came to Christ, took His yoke, and learned from Him? What does the Lord require of you if you truly do take His yoke and are you willing to let Him lead?

The crucifixion of Christ is such an important doctrine because understanding it correctly determines whether or not we have eternal life. What transpired in that event was the solution to mankind’s biggest problem—sin—and our resulting alienation from God.

The Good News of Jesus Christ is a call to faith, and it’s extended to all who hear it. In fact, Paul the apostle uses even stronger words than “call” or “invitation.” He says it is “as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:20).
