This week Kevin caught up with Rick Tegtmeier, CGCS, MG as he is getting settled into his new role as Rick Tegtmeier, retired golf course superintendent. Rick was one of our early guests on the podcast back in 2020, so it seemed only fitting that we have him back after just completing his final month at Des Moines Golf & CC. We talked about the changes he saw in his 40+ years in the industry, what his plans are now that he doesn’t need to check into the office every day, and how he changed his philosophy through the years to meet the needs of an evolving labor force. He even got into a little advice on how folks in the golf industry can prepare for retirement, regardless of their age. Rick has made a huge impact on our industry, so it was our good fortune to have him on and celebrate a career well served.
