Andrew continues his read through of The Eye of the World, the first book in The Wheel of Time series.  

We dive into chapters 8 and 9, A Place of Safety and Tellings of the Wheel. We discuss the topic of seduction, Rand say his goodbyes to his father Tam and learn the story of Manetherens last stand against the Trolloc armies and the Aeomons bitter disappointment as he awaited reinforcements.  

Later we dive deeper into the themes of patriarchy and the strength of women depicted within the story, is this a mans or womans world?

Later, we discover the town of Emond's Field in ruins from a Trolloc attack and we learn about an Aes Sedai in the town. Is she to be trusted?

In this episode of The False Dragons, Andrew is introduced to the peddler Padan Fain and the gleeman Thom Merrilin. The two contacts to the outside world for the folks of the Two Rivers.
