Special children deserve special parents.
Raising children always takes a huge amount of love and patience, but for some parents, it requires even more - due to additional physical, mental and emotional challenges their children face.
Parents of special needs children play a unique role in the effort to give their children the best life possible, and we brought in a dear friend of our family business, Tony Villasuso, to share how his family has handled caring for a child with special needs.
Antonio Villasuso is the Miami Centers Director of the Miami Rescue Mission, an organization dedicated to caring for the homeless men, women, and children of South Florida. He and his wife Debbie are parents to Joshua, their teenage son, who is on the autism spectrum and was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at an early age. Throughout Joshua's life, Tony and Debbie have worked tirelessly to provide the best educational, medical, social and spiritual environments that would allow their son to thrive.
In this episode, you'll learn how parents of children with special needs process the daily decisions they face, and how you too can grow in your understanding of the dedication that parenting requires.
