The Fantasy Joes

[Bradley Ylitalo](https://twitter.com/FFEvaluator) (who you know from DLF and Fanball) joins the Joes this week and kicks off the episode with a discussion his new endeavor, [Fantasy Evaluator](https://www.fantasyevaluator.com). Bradley’s goal for the site is to revolutionize fantasy football analysis, and he provides insights into how Fantasy Evaluator will accomplish this. Next, minus a sick Joe (get well Trey!), Ryan and Will dissect with Bradley the positional dynasty rankings on Fantasy Evaluator (QBs 10:26, RBs 24:18, WRs 41:30, and TEs 56:10), and question the rankings of Jared Goff, Sony Michel, Melvin Gordon, Adam Thielen, and many more!

The Fantasy Joes have officially partnered with Fantasy Evaluator, and we encourage our listeners to check it out! Fantasy Evaluator not only offers dynasty content, but also season long and DFS content. See it for yourself at [https://www.fantasyevaluator.com](https://www.fantasyevaluator.com)

The Joes are joined by special guest [Scott Connor (@CharlesChillFFB)](https://twitter.com/CharlesChillFFB). Scott shares some insights about the FFPC (19:27) and, along with the Joes, shares his favorite trade that he has made this offseason. Plus, he helps the Joes answer some questions that listeners asked this past week (25:48), include questions involving the potential dangers of having a win-now mentality during a startup draft, what we should be doing with the Ravens backfield in dynasty, and how we should be valuing 2020 picks with all of the hype surrounding the 2020 draft class.

The Joes get out of their comfort zones by all adopting a dynasty startup strategy they wouldn’t typically use for a startup mock draft. ([You can follow along with the draft board here](https://www73.myfantasyleague.com/2019/options?L=69014&O=113&CMD=GRID&DISPLAY=LEAGUE&ARCHIVE=*).) What lessons did they learn from this exercise? What are some of the more interesting player values they observed? Which Joe just can’t pass on QB value in the middle rounds of the draft? Can Trey help himself from drafting Kerryon Johnson and Derrick Henry? All this, and more, on this episode!

[Jordan McNamara](https://twitter.com/McNamaraDynasty), author of [*The Analytics of Dynasty*](https://analyticsofdynasty.com/shop/) and contributor at [UTH Dynasty](https://uthdynasty.com/), joins the Fantasy Joes to talk about the narratives we keep hearing about going into the 2019 season. What narratives might we want to buy into based on historical data, and what narratives should be rejected? Some questions/topics discussed include:

* Will Mecole Hardman slide right into the Tyreek Hill role and a great situation in Kansas City and put up big fantasy numbers in 2019?

* Is Todd Gurley is going to be unreliable this year and will Darrell Henderson be a possible league winner in 2019?

* When is a good time to buy into situation over talent, if ever?

* Even though we hear people talk about “recency bias” all the time, do we still overreact to it time and time again?

* Should we “follow the money” and target players that sign huge deals with new teams during the free agency period?

Plus, buckle up, because Will has a conspiracy theory to share! All this, and so much more, on this episode!

If you haven’t purchased *The Analytics of Dynasty* yet, what are you waiting for? You can purchase it (and a strategy session with Jordan to go with it if you’d like) by [clicking here](https://analyticsofdynasty.com/shop/).

Whether it is called a barbecue, a cookout, or just grilling out in your neck of the woods, on this episode, the Joes combine some of their most and least favorites fixtures of this summer pastime with some dynasty buys and sells. While you are firing up your grill, listen to this episode to learn which player Trey is punch drunk crazy about, which player Will thinks might look appetizing now but after the first bite will leave you disappointed, and which older player Ryan thinks you should try to acquire on the cheap even if he will ultimately motivate you to reach for some floss. All this, plus a player that some of the Joes think will leave you with heartburn, some drunk uncle dynasty questions, and more, on this incredibly fun episode!
