  • Episode 141: Soldiers of Misfortune w/ Corey "Task" Pruitt and the Fantasy/Comedy Afro Punks

Today I sit with good friend Corey "Task" Pruitt about his latest dive into "High" Fantasy Afro Punks. A contrast of Final Fantasy 7 and Battle Chasers, we see Task put together a Horde of different personalities all while utilizing a sense of comedy throughout the book. I ask about his affection in creating teams as with his past book Leaders of the Free world and the melding of having multiple character temperaments to write for as opposed to a singular Protagonist. We speak on each Character in detail- Auxillary, Danny Deadass, MDSA, Genevieve, and Think Tank. We also discuss his repeated trait in sonically using music in his stories and subjects. Today I sit with Ra'Chaun Rogers to talk about his Vigilante tale Dark Spider live on Kickstarter. The first thing you will realize although branded as a street level hero is that the expansion of antagonists Jamal Jones has to deal with thread a vast level of difficulty even for him to bear. In issue 1 Jamal comes face to face with a Villain who seems to understand Dark Spider, but yet he cant understand why he goes from the hunter to the hunted. Chris was unique as not only did he write the comic but also illustrated it with a mixture of friends and family. The members that make up CRIT are all his family and through each issue beyond the missions are banter and mayhem only a team that cared for each other would have.
