USA Today reports “The now-familiar stresses of quarantine – money worries, boredom, lack of escape from each other, conflicts over the kids, conflicts over chores, lack of exercise – are forcing many couples to reconsider how they really feel about their partners”. The key is intimacy. And, it's not necessarily in the bedroom.

Is that even a question? Yes. Facilities are slowly reopening, and there are those of us who are wearing a protective mask while others don’t or wont! The climate has become so divisive that there are a growing number of folks who are refusing to wear one.

No one ever imagines having to postpone or even cancel their wedding or funeral. The coronavirus has impacted many couples and families. Some have postponed to a later date or just went through with the ceremony but with only immediate family.

Now is the time for prayer. We have seen the video of the police and the National Guard pushing back peaceful protesters as our President and staff members walked across the street and raised a Bible. Why didn't our President take that moment to pray?

We are transitioning it to our 'New Normal'. Quarantine has created angst, worry and boredom. Why not take that energy and do something good for those who aren't so fortunate? Our first responders have stepped up and now it's our turn. Pray for a cure. 

The coronavirus will, hopefully, remain a once in a lifetime event. It seems like forever, but it looks like life is slowly starting to return to normal. Make that a ‘new normal’. Not lost in this is the importance of our Holy Days of Obligation.  

Covid-19 has changed every aspect of our lives. We're home-school teachers, we care for ill family members, we sanitize our groceries, deal with the fallout of mass layoffs and now we've added guilt. Well, my friends that's normal. Prayer encourages Hope. 

Our Catholic Churches are starting to reopen.  'Slow and steady wins the race.' There will be an abundance of conditions for the resumption of public Masses and things are going to look very different. Let's discuss these first steps and pray for a cure.

Friday May 15 is the Feast of St. Isidore the Farmer. Farmers deal with many problems, including coping with the Coronavirus, costs, the climate and satisfying our ever-changing tastes. St. Isadore exemplifies our farmers passion & care for their crops.

Friends, family members and fellow Catholics are praying and wondering if, and how, we’ll be able to receive the Eucharist in a post COVID-19 world. Bishops, Priests, and Deacons are working tirelessly to create a safe environment for all parishioners.
