When she’s not co-writing songs on Music Row in Nashville, Elizabeth Elkins is one-half of Granville Automatic, an acclaimed band with a passion for storytelling. She’s also the voice behind the defiant Punk-Rock project, Lights of Detroit. You’ll want to hear her stories and perspectives on the disparate processes of co-writing songs and writing for oneself, as well as the concept of longevity as a key to making a career of it.
“It was around song 900 or so that things really started to kick in for me.”
She also has a passion for the preservation of historic places and their unique stories. In that vein, she’s collaborating on a fascinating book, The Hidden History of Music Row, due for publication from The History Press in summer 2020.
