*- Two dominant temptations plague the world today: fear and unforgiveness.
*- “Prolonged fear causes a sustained release of cortisol and adrenaline, weakening the immune system’s ability to destroy cancer cells, promoting chronic inflammation and accelerating metastasis.”
*- "Of all cancer patients, 61 percent have forgiveness issues, and of those, more than half are severe…”
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
*- cannot be tempted: unable to be tempted, lacking the very capacity to be enticed by evil or influenced by sin.
but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
*- drawn away: the metaphor is taken from hunting and fishing: as game is lured from its covert, so man by lust is allured from the safety of self-restraint to sin.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
*- dead: true Christians are said simply to die, as having put off all sensibility to worldly things that draw them away from God—which resembles our Father’s nature—an inability to be tempted.
*- Lifework Assignment: Ask, “Holy Spirit, which triggers cause me to resurrect my sensitivity to worldly temptations and draw me away from the hidden safety found in Jesus?”
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
*- sin is not merely an isolated misdeed but a pervasive (spreading) condition affecting heart, mind, body, and society.
*- death: the loss of that life which alone is worthy of the name, i.e., "the misery of soul arising from sin, which begins on earth but lasts and increases after the death of the body.”
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
*- Even when we are tempted directly by a demon or through someone else, God will not allow a temptation without also providing a way of escape so that we do not sin.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
*- What are the “all things” that those who are faithfully in Christ will experience?
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2 Corinthians 5:17-18 KJV
*- Only those who are truly in Christ—proven by producing abundant fruit of righteousness (John 15:5)—can be fully at peace, knowing that everything occurring in their lives is of God—not from God, but of God.
17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)”
*- belly: to be given up to the pleasures of the palate, to gluttony
*- glory: good opinion concerning one, and as resulting from that comes praise, honor, or glory
*- shame: great dishonor or humiliation, which ought to arise from guilt
*- Prayer causes you to see God in everything. No situation will arise without you being assured that God knows what to do and, by your faith, that He will do it.
Refuse temptation before it becomes sin.
Obey God immediately without inner negotiation.
Remain in Christ, where our lives are hidden, and our victory is secured.
