In this message, Sarah asks: what does it mean to be blessed when we are poor in spirit, mourning, meek, or doing our best to make peace and so forth? She takes a look at the variety of people represented at the Sermon on the Mount and grapples with the hope of the good news of the kingdom of heaven when we live in a world of brokenness.

We started a two part study on the promises to Abraham from Genesis 12. We explored the blessings that are available to us in Christ. In Galatians 3, Paul connects our faith today with the faith of Abraham, through the person of Jesus Christ. We reviewed nine different facets of living in the blessings of God. Next week we will explore what it means to be a blessing.

Being rooted in love includes living a life of worship. But what is worship? It’s way more than coming to church on Sunday to sing and give and learn. With a big picture look at the life of Abraham, Sarah introduces us to a lifestyle of worship—a journey that includes ups and downs and our whole-beings living in response to God’s love for us.

Jesus is calling your name and asking you to turn to him. When you do, you’ll begin to understand and experience God’s great love for you and live a new life. Trusting in Jesus enables you to grow deep roots that will help you grow strong and be able to withstand the challenges of life.

We explored what reconciliation looks like for individuals, relationships, and society. Reconciliation is transformative and holistic. We are blessed to be completely reconciled to God in Christ and are called to be ministers of reconciliation.

When asked what the Kingdom of Heaven looks like, Jesus told many stories. Two were about growing seeds. Speaking from Mark 4, Sarah shares these parables and tells more modern-day, encouraging stories of how small, dormant, or dying seed grows into beautiful life.

Dave opened Sunday’s message with this question, “How is your relationship with God?” He encouraged us to explore our perception of who God is and evaluate how we relate to him. Are we like religious leaders at their best or at their worst? Finally, Dave reminded us of Jesus’s words in John 8:12 “Follow me and you will live in the light.”

In this message, Sarah looks at the stories of Adam and Eve (Gen. 1), Jonah (Book of Jonah), and Elijah (I Kings 19) to address three reasons we often run and hide: shame, judgment/anger, and disappointment. She invites us to come out of hiding and look to Jesus. When we do, we encounter him.

In this message delivered on Independence Day, we explore biblical perspectives on freedom. We discover that to become truly free, we must become slaves of Christ- but this is a different kind of slavery than we normally think about. We also explore how to handle the freedom that comes when we commit our lives to Jesus.
