Next up, Park Chan-wook’s The Handmaiden (streamed on Prime). Ashley experiences the scamming, scissoring hijinks for the very first time and you can add this to the very short list of movies that Tina and Ashley agree on.

It’s Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month!! We’re celebrating every Tuesday this month with movies written, starring, and/or directed by AAPI people. Representation in front of and behind the camera is super important and we wanted to spend the month highlighting some AAPI films you know and some you might not know!

Up first, is Lovesong (streamed on Netflix), written and directed by South Korean filmmaker, So Yong Kim. Tina finds a movie that has the essence of a period piece without being a period piece and Ashley is not amused.

Next up, The Feels (streamed on Netflix) with Constance Wu starring as one of the leads. Fittingly, for a movie called The Feels, Ashley and Tina have a lot of Feelings.

For this week’s Shorty, we talked about things that are also shorts. How fitting!

First up, at the request of many of our listeners, we watched SNL’s “Lesbian Period Piece.” Ashley hates on period pieces like always and Tina feels personally attacked by the fact that she would watch this fake movie.

Second, another skit from SNL, the Kristen Stewart Totino’s Pizza Roll ad. KStew’s Sabine makes Ashley act up and Tina tries to speak French.

Last, but most definitely not least, “Dance Biter” from A Black Lady Sketch Show. Ashley and Tina audition to be on the new season and then Ashley shares her entrepreneurial ideas.

It’s Oscar Week!! The most prestigious film awards ceremony is this Sunday at the Dolby Theatre in the worst part of Hollywood in a mall across the street from a Hooters.

For this week’s shorty, Ashley and Tina quiz each other on things the other knows nothing about. Ashley has to guess the plot of Oscar nominated movies just based off their poster and Tina has to guess drag Queen names. It goes as well as you think it would.
