Of all of Mollys Sims’ many accomplishments, including being on the cover of Sports Illustrated, she is most proud of her role as mother to her 3 children, a dream that she always had and wished for more than anything else in life. In this episode, Molly shares with Dr. Ghadir the many lessons she has learned over the years, lessons in parenthood, family planning, her career, and her relationship with her husband Scott Stuber. She recounts her parenthood journey, that started more than 10 years ago in Dr. Ghadir’s office, when she took the leap and made her first appointment to discuss fertility preservation options (egg-freezing vs. embryo-freezing). She details how 10 years ago, it was taboo to talk about any kind of fertility treatments and no one shared their experiences, also how she felt pressure to find a partner to freeze embryos with. She also details how once she finally froze embryos, it took so much pressure off of her, as it felt like an insurance policy for having kids later in life. Both Molly and Dr. Ghadir explain how much has changed in the world of fertility since they first met, as far technology and social awareness, and how amazing it is that people are willing to share their experiences and stories around infertility. Molly details why she is so happy she took the steps she did to plan for parenthood, as she believes, like everything in life, success starts with a plan, and how there are many paths to becoming a parent, especially with help from the technology available now and the information that is out there. Her motherhood journey wasn’t an easy one, but she always believed in doing everything and anything she had to, in order to achieve her dream of one day becoming a mother.
Molly’s ability to balance her busy life that includes her husband, her 3 children, and an extensive career, is admirable, and she always makes sure to leave time for having fun. She shares tips on how one can juggle everything without taking away from life’s many pleasures. She also details how she believes that surrounding herself with great friends and family over the years took her through the many stages of her life, the highs and the lows.
Molly also details her newest project, her podcast, Lipstick On The Rim, that she co-hosts with her best friend, Emese Gormley (@emesegormley) and all the wonderful topics she will discuss on the show. Molly is a wealth of knowledge, and listeners will definitely learn so much from what she has to say.
