I have come to believe that fighting in our marriage has EVERYTHING to do with our desires.  I know and believe in my heart that we need to catch that desire at the top of that funnel and determine whether it is godly or worldy.   Then we need to take that desire, GODLY OR NOT and make it obedient to Christ.

Why do we need to take godly desires captive?  Because your heart and mine, is desperately wicked.  We can so easily rationalize a godly ending with worldy means.  This is a big NO-NO for us wives seeking true peace and lasting freedom in our marriages.

As a Christian wife pursing God's kingdom way inside your marriage, it probably didn't take you long to realize that this lifestyle of obedience and submission to our husbands EVEN IF ONLY UNTO GOD is a challenge.  Have you ever experienced real doubt, and said any of the following in your heart?

We live in a culture of information OVERLOAD.  There is so much information out there.  And the Christian marriage market is alive and well, consuming information with all the rest.  Christian women are in pursuit of how to get a better marriage or to validate what they already feel is true.

Scripture tells us as believers in 1 John 4:1, Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

We need to be vigilant in what we are allowing to penetrate our marriage and influence our lives and behavior.  Not all "truth" is true.  We live in a time of influencers but not all influencers should be allowed to influence your life.
