When is the last time you asked God, “Why?”
Not…
“Why does my husband need to be this way?” or “Why can I never win the lottery?”
When is the last time you asked Him something just so you could understand better?

As a wife who has had my fair share of poor attitudes, I can attest to this truth of deceptive bad attitudes. There wasn’t a day that went by that I din’t have a bad attitude. It was exhausting. But to make matters worse I HAD NO REAL IDEA what I was doing or what was going on.

And make no mistake, these bad attitudes  not only lead us to quarreling and unrest in our  marriages, they lead us straight into the wilderness.  No wonder our marriages can feel like a sun scorched land at times.

The reasons we choose to do and not do certain things as parents are many, but the only real reason we have opinions contradictory to our children is because of that one word. Perspective. Point blank—we have understanding that they don’t yet possess.

The same is true for us Christian wives.

When we fail to understand God’s kingdom within marriage and how its design was always meant to be a mirror that reflects that kingdom, it is because we lack perspective. Just as your child may not understand a decision you make, we are children who oftentimes don’t understand our Heavenly Father’s decision to structure marriage the way He has. It doesn’t matter that we mean well as Christian wives and want more of Him in our lives, there is a consequence of not understanding His ways and following them AND IT IS ALWAYS strife within marriage.

Do you know who the greatest enemy of your marriage is?  No, it's not your husband when the two of you are in the throes of an argument. But let me give you a hint - it is at the very bedrock of every fight you have with your man.

We need to sever IMMEDIATELY the soul ties that are plaguing our marriages!  Do you think you're over past relationships?  I mean, hello, we're married!  I thought I was over them too...until I learned that I was keeping doors open by not severing soul ties connected to those past relationships.
