Episode 45 begins with a discussion on one of the most critically acclaimed releases of the first half of 2020, Eliza Hittman's NEVER RARELY SOMETIMES ALWAYS. 

The packed PICK SIX this time around features our choices of the BEST COEN BROTHERS FILMS. Always fun to talk this kind of shop. 

As we dig further into the depths of the Criterion Channel, our current THROWBACK CHALLENGE gave both of us our intro's into the work of Susan Seidelman with 1985's DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN.

As we continue to scramble for freshly released material, Netflix has the hook up! Our first film is THE PLATFORM, originally known in its origin country of Spain as EL HOYO. Andy has Five Good Questions for Noah about the hugely popular flick. 

The second consecutive Netflix film is Prentice Penny's drama, UNCORKED. Andy saw this one, so Noah tosses Five Good Questions at him. 

In the latest PICK SIX segment, we're hitting close to home yet again (pun intended) during the quarantined times. We are ranking the BEST HOME INVASION FILMS of all time. 

Finally, we end an already darkly themed episode with a revisit of one of the most gut-wrenching documentaries ever released. The THROWBACK CHALLENGE is Kurt Kuenne's 2008 film, DEAR ZACHARY: A LETTER TO A SON ABOUT HIS FATHER. 

Phew. We're gonna need some sedatives and a slew of light-hearted flicks on the immediate docket ASAP.

No movie theaters means we've gotta dig a little deeper into the streaming platforms for fresh releases. Hulu has us covered for the first film this week, which is the Pete Davidson-led dramedy BIG TIME ADOLESCENCE. 

The second new film is the Netflix original, LOST GIRLS. Amy Ryan's great,  right? She always has been. Does the rest of the film stack up? 

The latest Pick Six gets upped to PICK TEN for our choices of the BEST ORIGINAL SCORES OF THE LAST DECADE. This one's been in our back pockets for a while. 

Our latest journey through the Criterion Channel supplies this THROWBACK CHALLENGE with a watch of Akira Kurosawa's 1961 film, YOJIMBO.

The final new theater-released film we will have for a while is Craig Zobel's THE HUNT. Andy has FIVE GOOD QUESTIONS for Noah about the political action comedy flick. 

In the newest PICK SIX segment, the boys go timely with a countdown of their choices for the best VIRUS/PLAGUE RELATED FILMS of all time. Some of these were more than difficult to sit through at the moment. 

And in the ongoing effort to fully utilize our Criterion Channel subscription, the THROWBACK CHALLENGE revolves around Jean-Luc Godard's widely regarded masterpiece from 1960, BREATHLESS.

For this rendition of the THROWBACK CHALLENGE, we get to cross off another Claire Denis film from our watchlist. It's 2008's 35 SHOTS OF RUM.

This week's new film is the 99.255% CGI-riddled adventure flick, THE CALL OF THE WILD. Find out if we hated it as much as we thought we would going in. 

Yes, we ended up grasping for straws in the latest PICK SIX segment. We attempt to rank our favorite AIRPLANE-THEMED MOVIES of all-time. 

To celebrate our 40th episode, we decided to tackle none other than Judd Apatow's 2012 film, THIS IS 40. Noah sees it for the first time in 2020!

The return of the regular PICK SIX programming brings us head first into our individual rankings of the SIX BEST PERFORMANCES OF PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN'S CAREER. It's virtually impossible to whittle this one down. 

For the final segment of this episode, we see the long awaited return of the THROWBACK CHALLENGE. Andy talks about his time spent with Gaspar Noe's LOVE, while Noah experiences Giuseppe Tornatore's CINEMA PARADISO for the first time.

Here we go! It's time to rev up and deliver our takes on the 2020 Oscars! There were a few out-of-left-field surprises, among other tidbits. We discuss the ceremonies and beyond. 

For what is essentially our first legitimate movie of the year, we give our takes on BIRDS OF PREY (AND THE FANTABULOUS EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN). Surely this is something all of you have been anticipating not only recently, but throughout your entire lives.
