The Filum Show

We're getting right into it this week on The Filum Show. The Academy Awards are just around the corner and we're talking through the hopefuls in each of the major categories. Does Saoirse Ronan stand a chance for the Best Actress Oscar? Spoiler: Probably not. But sure look, where else would you get that kind of gritty homegrown truthfulness?

Keep your ears peeled (eww) in the coming weeks for more news on our first live event too - it really is going to be like nothing you've ever seen before.

On this weeks' bumper show, we have none other than JAMIE FOXX and MICHAEL B. JORDAN on the show talking about their latest movie, the harrowing legal drama 'Just Mercy'. We'll also be reviewing 'Just Mercy', as well as legacy threequel 'Bad Boys For Life', the Fox News scandal black comedy / drama 'Bombshell', and we're talking about the new 'Morbius' trailer with Jared Leto.

On our first episode of the new decade, we're doing some post-Golden Globes talk on the winners and losers of the night and looking ahead to the Oscars as well. Brian talks to Josh and Benny Safdie, the directors of 'Uncut Gems'. As well as this, the gang discuss Sam Mendes' war epic, '1917', and review 'Uncut Gems' before it lands in Irish cinemas this week. And if that wasn't enough, the gang also talked about what they did over Christmas!

On our final Filum Show of the year, we're talking some Christmas classics and movies on the TV over the Christmas break. We're also reviewing Greta Gerwig's 'Little Women', Taika Waititi's 'Jojo Rabbit', animated comedy 'Spies In Disguise', children's comedy 'Playing With Fire', plus we have an Irish EXCLUSIVE interview with Taika Waititi talking about 'Jojo Rabbit', and we've also got an extended interview with John Cena as well! As always, you can follow The Filum Show on Twitter at @TheFilumShow, and don't forget to review and rate our show as well! And from all of us here at the Filum Show and entertainment.ie, have a very Merry Christmas and we'll see you all in the New Year!

On the final review show of 2019, we're talking about two completely different movies with two completely different reviews - Tom Hooper's abomination onto the world of cinema, 'Cats', and a spoiler-free / spoiler-filled review of 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker'. We've also got OSCAR ISAAC on this week's show talking about 'Dune', working with CGI, and we talked to KELLY-MARIE TRAN and NAOMI ACKIE about the legacy of 'Star Wars', and got them to act out scenes with Darth Vader as the voice of Kermit The Frog. It works when you see the video of it on entertainment.ie - trust us.

It's coming towards the end of the year, so we're beginning our end of year specials with our Best Movies of 2019! Dee, Eoin and Brian are counting down their favourite movies of 2019, with Dee championing Bo Burnham's 'Eighth Grade' and Olivia Wilde's 'Booksmart', while Brian's repping Jordan Peele's 'Us' and James Gray's 'Ad Astra'. On top of that, we've also got the red-hot takes on the Golden Globes nominations, plus our review of 'Jumanji: The Next Level' on this week's show as well!

On yet another jam-packed episode of Ireland's favourite movie show, Brian flew over to London last week to talk to Edward Norton, the star / director / writer of 'Motherless Brooklyn', and his co-star Gugu Mbatha-Raw. We also review 'Motherless Brooklyn', as well as discussing Irish rom-com 'The Last Right' with a terrible Poirot impression. Not only that, the gang dissect the 'No Time To Die' trailer and we're also talking Netflix's latest orthographically generated Christmas movie, 'A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby'.

On this week's jam-packed show, we've got reviews of Rian Johnson's whodunnit 'Knives Out', papal buddy comedy (yes, really) 'The Two Popes', and another reboot of 'Charlie's Angels' as well. We've also got an interview with composer Danny Elfman ahead of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' Live at 3Arena next week, and we've got some terrible (or maybe not?) impressions of Werner Herzog.

In this weeks show the gang discuss #ReleaseTheSnyderCut controversy around Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and take a deep dive into Disney's upcoming slate of releases into 2023.

We learn whether Frozen 2 can top its predecessor, and how Brian got on dressed as Olaf for the premiere. Find out how Chadwick Boseman performs in 21 Bridges too!

We also hear about Eoin's 'Cheap Skink' idea, and learn how many bridges there are in Pittsburgh, which is possibly a bit less interesting.

In an absolutely JAM-PACKED show this week, we've got interviews with Paul Feig and Henry Golding from 'Last Christmas', and James Mangold, the director of 'Logan', 'Girl, Interrupted' and more recently, 'Le Mans 66'. We've also got reviews for 'Last Christmas', 'Le Mans 66', 'The Report', 'Marriage Story', 'Little Monsters' and because that's enough stuff to review, we even talked about Dublin's Grafton Quarter because our producers said we need to do more local content. CONTENT. Like the show? Rate and review us and don't forget to tweet us at @TheFilumShow.
