Super Super excited about this 3 part series on "HOW TO TREAT THE RUNNING ATHLETE" with my first ever Zoom collab with distinguished guests from The Sports Medicine Project (Kelly Kortick and Black Withers)!! Kelly is a fellow physio and Blake is a podiatrist who also lectures at the University of Newcastle, both of them are keen runners and triathlon athletes and have a vast array of knowledge in treating runners. So I thought I would pick their brains about questions like:

1.) What is the typical runner's personality and mentality like?

2.) What are some subjective 'must ask' questions when a runner comes in to see you?

In this episode, we meet Paul Riley who is the clinical psychologist who works under the same roof as us @ proactive health. We chat about what cues physio's can listen for during our conversation with the patient to warrant us to make a referral to the psyc, and also how physio's and psycs can best work together to provide holistic care to the patient.

In this week's bonus episode, we tackle the "Hurt is harm" misconception and we chat about how in pathologies such a knee OA, the pain patients get doesn't always correlate to harm and we also discuss what is considered 'good' and 'bad' pain and which pathologies you should never train into pain with.
