Sometimes the suffering and difficult times we go through is God putting discipline in our lives to get us back on track. To get us back on the Thy Way Highway instead of the My Way Highway. Divine discipline is the total of God’s punitive action taken by His justice, always done in grace and because He loves you. He wants the best for you. He doesn’t want you to destroy yourself. “My son do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord” (Heb 12:5). Stage 1 is a warning discipline designed to get our attention. Stage 2 is intensive discipline, it hurts. Stage 3 is dying discipline, the Lord taking you home sooner than you should be going.

Patience is a wonderful virtue. Patience means having a relaxed mental attitude. Thinking with divine viewpoint and orienting to God’s grace. “Rely on the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way” (Ps 37:7). Don’t worry about the evil ones who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Be confident God will handle them. “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” (Heb 12:1).

“I called and you refused. I stretched out my hand and no one paid attention. You neglected my counsel and did not want my reproof” (Prov 1:23-27). As a man thinks in his heart so he is. As a nation thinks, so it is. Americans need to turn to the Lord Jesus Christ to change their hearts if this country is to survive. “The heart (mind) is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick, who can understand it? (Jer 17:9). A nation is only as great as the virtue of its people and the integrity of those who govern it. “Our schools will become the gates to hell if we take God out of our schools” Martin Luther, the great German theologian.“Our Constitution is designed for moral and godly people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other type” John Adams, 2nd President of the United States.

Having eternal security is a wonderful way to live. No fear of death. No fear of the future. Eternal life means having a resurrection body and living forever in the presence of God in the new heavens and the new earth. Once saved, always saved. You can’t lose eternal security. “I give unto them eternal life and they will never perish and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. (John 10:28-29).

Make enough bad decisions from a position of weakness, human viewpoint, and you’ll become hard-hearted. Repeated violations of the protocol plan of God creates hardness in the soul. Sucked into the cosmic system of thinking and acting, hard-hearted people don’t feel bad about hurting others. “Those who walk in the futility of their mind being darkened in their understanding by excluding God in their life because of their ignorance and the hardness of their heart” (Eph 4:17-20). Only the use of rebound and a return to spiritual growth will remedy hard-heartedness.

“As a man thinks in his heart, so he is” (Prov 23:7). You are what you think. That’s why renovating your thoughts by learning and applying the mind of Christ is so important. God knows what you’re thinking. You can’t hide from Him. “For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His” (2 Chron 16:9). As you take in God’s Word and learn and apply it in your life you get the wisdom of God’s Word that builds a house of understanding in your soul (Prov 24). You’ll learn what God expects of you. “Happiness belongs to those who hear My Father’s Word and keep it” (Luke 11:28).

Adverse circumstances can cause you to fear death. The promised solution is given in Job where it says that you will have nothing to fear from a violent death. You and I can claim these Old Testament verses and relax in this situation.

The three spiritual skills you must learn and use: the filling of the Holy Spirit; sitting under a well-qualified pastor and applying what you learn.

The application of thought is what you have to do. Thinking is what changes us. Courage is us thinking under pressure.

f you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, your focus in these days must be on Him and not on the pandemic. Your focus must be on His promises, not on the news and the constant never-ending scare tactics perpetrated by the devil himself.

The strength of your soul is much more important than the strength of your body.

If you’re going to be a winner you have to think and execute. Secondly, you have to understand that the crisis personality demonstrates leadership in a crisis. How? They have a relaxed mental attitude, they have confident expectations, they have infectious confidence and security in the middle of the storm.

The Bible tells us that faith is the power that we need to overcome the distractions in the cosmic system.

The wrath of God is your first crisis. If you reject the free gift of eternal life that God gives you through Jesus Christ you will face eternity in the Lake of Fire.

God gave you volition, your decider – your chooser. 90% or more of the suffering you’ll have is self-induced by mismanaging your relationships, your finances, or your health. “For they sow the wind and they reap the whirlwind” (Hosea 8:7). The decisions you make determine the life you will lead. Spiritual growth gives you wisdom and discernment to make good decisions based on divine viewpoint, not human viewpoint. “Do not be deceived, God will not be mocked; for whatever a man sows this he will also reap” (Gal 6:7). You must take full responsibility for the decisions you make. As we learn God’s Word we begin to think better, more correctly, which leads to better decisions.

The cosmic system is Satan’s counterfeit to the plan of God. It’s a failed system. God’s 10 problem-solving devices act as a defense against the lures of the cosmic system. Learn them—use them!

The cosmic system is the world, human viewpoint thinking. “Do not love the world nor the things in the world” (1 John 2:15).  All the world can offer you is temporal—temporal happiness, temporal success. Only God provides everlasting life and His Word provides spiritual solutions to any problem you will face. The cosmic system just provides human solutions. Human solutions are no solutions. Be on guard to counter the temptation of the cosmic system.

Sin is anything contrary to the character of God. My ways are not your ways and My thoughts are not your thoughts. Sin is coming short of God’s righteousness. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:23). The solution to the problem of sin is the same for all: salvation and the use of rebound (1 John 1:9). The temptation in itself is not a sin. Sin is the volitional thought or act of succumbing to the temptation that is the sin. Wrongdoing is doing the right thing in the wrong way. That’s why learning the protocols of the plan of God is so important. Evil is the genius of Satan that contradicts God’s grace plan. Evil twists grace. All sin is evil but all evil is not sin. Evil is a system of thinking.
