The FM Show Podcast Episode 51 - FM25 What We Know So Far

Football Manager 25 is here! Sports interactive dropped a Development Blog that outlines what is in, and more important, whats not in, FM25.

Joining Tony and RDF Tactics today is co-host of 5Star Potential podcast and Twitch Streamer, Doop.

We've had Doop on our Patreon Christmas show, and we're delighted to get him on the public episodes.

This episode is basically breaking down the blog. We talk about the removal of touchline shouts. We speculate about the UI. All the while, we're having an absolutely brilliant time.

You can read the full blog here

June 27, 2024 The FM Show Podcast Episode 50 - Rebuilding A Nation Scotland
The FM Show Podcast Episode 50 - Rebuilding A Nation Scotland

With Euro2024 in full swing, one thing has come to light very quickly. Scotland need a refresh. As Tony is a Scotland fan, he feels that the burden of rebuilding Scotlands fortunes falls on his shoulders, and as he has no sway within the SFA, he might aswell try to do it on Football Manager.

In this incredibly warm episode, we talk player pathways for creating players suitable for the national team. We look at identifying the players DNA. What makes a 'Scotland' player. We also find where the most Scottish people are outside of Scotland, as that will definitely help when it comes to setting up our database.

Speaking of which, if you want to join in, or have a nosey around, here's the save file.

The FM Show Podcast Episode 49 - Using Data Science in FM | MATT TAYLOR RICHARDS

Joining Tony Jameson and RDF Tactics this week is the former co-founder and host of Football Manager Therapy, its Matt Taylor Richards. The lads have a great catch up, and its really interesting to hear how Matt has gone from presenting, to podcasting, to studying for a data science degree via a submission based on XG!

We talk about how Football Manager Therapy began. When Matt and TJ knew it was time to move on. What drove Matt to return to education. Arron shares his stories of being part of the crew and talking through the evolution of all of our content. Plus theres a mental health check in too.

The FM Show Podcast Episode 48 - IAIN MACINTOSH Football Manager Stole My Life

Todays show features the Football Manager legend, Iain Macintosh. Writer, podcaster, presenter, all round good guy. Tony and RDF Tactics worked with Iain at The Athletic when we were The Football Manager Show, and it was awesome to get Iain onto the show.

We chat all things FM, including near post corners. Managing every aspect of the job and your youth team. Retro databases. Football Manager Stole My Life. Live Q&As. And we consult the Rothmans annuals that sit behind Iains head on camera.

Its a great episode.

June 06, 2024 The FM Show Podcast Episode 47 - International Management NEEDS TO IMPROVE
The FM Show Podcast Episode 47 - International Management NEEDS TO IMPROVE

As Euro 2024 is fast approaching, Tony Jameson and RDF Tactics ask the question 'How can international management be improved in FM25?'

Its not a game mode that is particularly popular, and with FM25 on the horizon, we wonder what can be done to make this more immersive. Does winning a World Cup feel special? Does qualifying for your first major tournament feel like an achievement? Why is the Nations League essentially just a bunch of friendlies?

The FM Show Podcast Episode 46 - Moneyball In Football Manager MUSTERMANNFM
Have you ever wondered how to do a Moneyball save in Football Manager? Do you even know what Moneyball means? Maybe you prefer to do your scouting using data rather than attributes? Maybe you just want to see TJ's brain melt a little.
On todays show, MustermannFM joins TJ and RDF Tactics to talk about to use data and stats to aid your recruitment and how they can make you better at scouting on Football Manager. Naturally we show off the Mustermann Iconic Skin, which is a thing of beauty, and something you definitely need to take a look at.

The FM Show Podcast Episode 45 - We NEED These Things In FM 25
Football Manager 2025 might still be around 6 months away, but that wont stop TJ and RDF Tactics from speculating as to what they think needs to be in the game.
This episode serves as a wish list for features, or improvements, that we hope will make their way into FM25 to improve the way the game plays.
At the end of the episode, theres a big question, what happens if SI get FM25 wrong? Then what?
As always, comment below your thoughts on what you want to see in FM25, and what happens next if FM25 doesnt land the way you imagined?
As a reminder, we've got a Community Challenge in Portugal which we'd love you to take part in.

May 16, 2024 The FM Show Podcast Episode 44 - Football Manager Does Eurovision
The FM Show Podcast Episode 44 - Football Manager Does Eurovision
TJ and RDF Tactics have caught Euro fever, but its not for the European Championships. After watching Eurovision over the weekend, the lads try to work out who is the greatest Football Manager (and / or Championship Manager) Legend to represent Europe as the ultimate champion.
Its fair to say that this episode has Patreon energy!
Let us know in the comments who we've missed out (we know we've missed a LOT of players who could have represented these nations) and if you want us to do another continent, make sure you shout that out too.
This episode is so much fun. Its so silly. Its the perfect episode for the end of the football season.
You'll be needing this link by the way, and you can thank us later for the ear worm of the greatest bit of Europop we could find.

Its the question on everyone lips. Is FM24 too easy?
TJ and RDF Tactics discuss whether this is actually true or not. Is it that we've got access to more content now? Is it because we've all been playing the game longer? Or is it just easier?
We're sure that this episode will create a fair amount of discourse, so please, leave a comment below and let us know what you think, and join the Discord too.
We also chat about ways that you can make the game more interesting that might make the game a bit more challenging.
