My new friend Gabriel Perez joins me today to share his story of discovering God as Father, and not some far off distant God.  He is a Christ follower, husband, and homeschool dad of three children.  Gabriel is a Field Guide helping fathers to walk with God and find healing and restoration in their hearts, and the hearts of their families.  Gabriel shares his story of desiring to become affirmed as a Youtube influencer and podcaster, by using the gifts that God had given to him, but the Lord graciously slowed him down while on a backpacking trip in Zion National Park in Utah. There are various kinds of "cries" that men will make.  Yes, men will cry!  But often times our cry as men, is not your typical tears and tissues type of cry. Looking back I really do see God's faithfulness, but I also expect and believe for more in this lifetime from the Lord. Sometimes difficult situations, stressful circumstances and bad reports come our way and we don't know what to do. Sometimes only the news of something evil, can take us to a low and dark place of fighting feelings of fear.  These are the times where we must keep looking to Jesus and by faith begin to worship Him knowing that He will bring us to a place of victory and rest on the other side.  I know you will encouraged on today's episode.

On today's episode, I share with you some truth from God's word, as a dose of "spiritual dopamine" to help your discouragement. Dopamine is a natural chemical in our brain, and is responsible for allowing you to feel pleasure, satisfaction and motivation. When you feel good that you have achieved something, it's because you have a surge of dopamine in the brain. God's word of truth, mixed with praise and worship, is what we need to defeat and overcome discouragement that will come and try to weigh us down.
