In the sixth episode of "The Fundamentals of Prayer," Duane Sheriff teaches that effective prayer is rooted in knowing and praying according to God's will revealed in His Word and promises. 1 John 5:14-15 teaches that when we pray according to God's will, we can be confident He hears us and grants our petitions. Jesus' prayer in Gethsemane is an example of praying God's will, even in a difficult circumstance. By aligning our prayers with His promises, we can approach the throne of grace with boldness and expectation.
