Erica Veldhuizen of Veldy’s is here to tell us the story of one of the best places to stop along route 66. Erica and her husband moved to Tulsa in 2013 and decided to bring the artisan cheese to Tulsa. The family is already into the business of making cheese and they are really hands on in doing it so they know from what the cow is eating, when they are being milked and how long the milk has been aged until they are brought into your table. The business all started when they started to build their own family and career and decided on the concept which is now Veldy’s. Luckily their landlord saw their vision and supported them as young entrepreneurs. They signed the lease at October 2019 but then 2 mos later found out that his husband has cancer and then 2 mos later covid started. They had a rough and difficult situation to face but they conquered it by simply pushing forward, continuing in chasing their dream and not letting the circumstances stop them

Virginia Baldridge shares valuable advice she was given when her son Chuck was diagnosed with down syndrome. “Take him home and love him” so after they went to the hospital she went to the library to learn about her son's situation and just found out that it is about the extra chromosome. So they decided to raise him just like her two childrens, her grandmother would massage his little legs not knowing it is really important in strengthening. He walked at 2 ½ yrs old and talked when he was about 4 yrs old defying what the doctor said that he might never walk or talk. There was no one before them for everything they have done and luckily there is a whole lot to offer to children with down syndrome. Chuck went to study at sunnyside school for two years, he was enrolled in the public kindergarten class and got to transfer at sandspring. He then spent his time with his family, relatives and with the 65 childrens in sands spring home that loved him so much. And another thing about Chuck is he went to college at 12 and he was the cool man on campus, her family still got the chance to bring him home during weekends, holidays, summer and vacations making Chuck get the best of two worlds having his home and family to support and he had great training.

Rhys Martin, president of the Oklahoma Route 66 Association, an association which has been around since 1989 talked about their mission to protect and preserve the Tulsa Route 66. Tulsa Route 66 was created to connect places as automobiles are making their way to the future so they got into making federally funded roads. It became one of the paved highways that went far across the country. Then the interstate came along and made it more of the destination than the journey. so by the 1980’s everyone was on the interstate and the Tulsa Route 66 wasn’t that important to the people anymore so the road was federally decertified. But these roads were still the main street to small towns and communities so people stood up to recognize these historical roads and that these are still important, which gave birth to these associations. The association wants people to enjoy and appreciate the importance and value of these roads as they go along their journey. They are making tourist gift shops and cool roadside attractions where people can stop by, enjoy and make great memories that they can always remember.

Zach Enlow on the Landlord and Tenant Act Ruling on Repairs. Zach recently in a case where he represented the landlord against the tenants with a big family. A residential property normally has a big value in rentals. It started because the tenants didn't want to pay for the damages the landlord had claimed when they vacated. On the other hand the tenants argued that based on the statsheet the landlord can’t go to the court based on the Landlord Tenant Act Sec. 132. Zach argued that the statsheet should not be interpreted in short if you damage the property you need to pay for it. Darryl added an example that if you get insurance and your house was hit by a storm and had damage the insurance company will be liable for the fixing of that and not you. Same with vehicles if the car got damaged by accident the insurance company will be paying for that and many people didn’t pay to fix it the company does, Zach added. So the cycle will go like this if there’s damage and tenants always decline to fix the damages after they use the property the value of the home will get a lower quality. When you have a low quality home it would end up a bad property and a bad neighborhood that might cause the area to get slummy. This issue is created by the court and not by individuals. For example, a Landlord can't fix the damage to his house because he has a problem, the court won’t charge the tenant since it is “stated” in the law. He argued to the court because it says that he can just ask the tenant if he already fixed it according to that law. He suggested that the landlords call legislation to revise the bill or submit a bill for the damage. Lastly he added that anybody with property should call their local reps in state house or state center and explain to them that this is another example of punishing landlords in poor drafting and they should change the statsheet.

So a lot of people or homeowners call them because of the moisture that they feel in their house.This issue is same with the aircon system that the role is to remove moisture and create a lower temperature to get comfort but if it doesn’t placed properly or installed well it could encounter malfunctions and can become a problem. The level of humidity as advised should be 50 percent humidity for homes and if it is high the doors will stick and cause a smell in the house. Molds are everywhere If you have high humidity they will start to grow. “We live in a world of mold; this is part of our existence as humans”. People should not freak out about molds because this is part of our lives but not good if it has too much. Children and older people can also be affected. There are people who are affected by molds and people who are not and there are different kinds of molds who are dangerous and not. Molds can produce mycotoxins that can make you sick and it could be this bad if it is 3 years long. Example the aircon has a low humidity and there is a duct, the duct gets sweaty and after that mold will start to grow.
