Brian Paschal on Mother Road Market and Route 66. It started before the market with the Lowbeck Taylor Family foundation launched in 2016 called kitchen 66 an incubator in commercial kitchens where business persons can rent. It was downtown Route 66 over 9th St. in Tulsa where they originally opened. It was the incubator where they started classes for food entrepreneurs who were maybe at their homes, had the idea but didn't know how to commercialize it . They did it for years with great entrepreneurs and after they came up with ideas to use their expertise and established a neighborhood and extend Route 66 to Mother road market. Baskin asked brian about things in Oklahoma that originated there. Brian said it is a great area and great neighborhood but it isn't a destination place where people can hang out. Route 66 has a big project next week or after a month a street skate project is being done in several blocks. The goal is to continue to provide the mother road market as an anchor to institutions at corner 11th louis. The pandemic made people feel how important restaurants and culture and place and having great entrepreneurs are.

Lisa Toth with Pam Shipley of the Hidden Workforce. Lisa met Pam when she had her office next to Shipley Donuts and Pam is working there and part of the owner of the Shipley Donut.

Pam is also a dental hygienist, owned a cherry berry store and in Real Estate. First she started working at the donuts and then went to Real Estate to help people buy and sell and into rental properties. Few years later she started the Cherry berry store which was started by their friend and decided to open one. Cherry berry Store is a yogurt store where you get yogurt and pick toppings but it didn't last. After they went back to Real Estate and activated her license, she really loved Real Estate. Pam really liked the paper works and admired the joy people get from buying their homes. Lisa also shared that he got her Real Estate license and tried selling. This Pharmacy started because one of its owners was enclosed with the developmental disabled population and noticed that it needs a pharmacy to help people buy medicine. She saw people who go to hospitals without medicines. This pharmacy also offers delivery of the medicines for free. Additionally they hire persons with developmental disability to help them deliver the medicines. Through this the pharmacy could give back to the people whom they serve and because people with disabilities can’t also get a job easily. And one of the people Lisa met last year during the pandemic who also has a developmental disorder is now working with the Quality First Pharmacy. And one of the products they offer is the quality dose or the multi dose packaging where you don't need to take medicine individually because you already have it in one bubble pack making it more convenient for you.

Complete Facelift of ORU'S Mabee Center

Tim Johnson - Athletic Department Director said a lot of things are going on in Mabee's Center. The outside is having a little bit of facelift, will have a new colour scheme, will have a new crown of the building and a blue glass that will match the chapel look.

They basically have 3 projects going on, renovation of the Mabee's Center and south lobby that they are taking over renovating for sports medicine, lounge and locker room space and the NEW 15 Million Dollar Athletic Center built in just at the southeast of the Mabee's Center. They are hoping to be completely done on November 1st for the basketball season to kick off. Volleyball, soccer, track and field, tennis and others will be moved to the old athletic center. That also makes it more accessible for the aerobics department and all others for the whole university.

Mabee's Center is a phenomenal place to watch basketball, a wonderful venue that serves not just the university but also the whole city for decades. Facelift is initiated for making the Athletic Center to be a magnificent place again making it more competitive and a great venue for the next coming years!

It's not just about athletics but the academic walk, spiritual mood, social activities all of that are important developments in producing a whole person who could compete.
