Some may know or remember "Big T" Thurl Bailey as the man who was part of the 1983 National Championship team with North Carolina State, who was coached by Coach Jim Valvano. He was drafted in the first round of the NBA draft and played 12 of his 16 professional seasons in the National Basketball Association between the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves organizations.
What most don't know however, is the fact that Thurl's basketball talents didn't necessarily come naturally. He had the passion for the sport and the dedication and willingness to get better, but he truly had to WORK at it to be where he's at.
Find out today on the show just how he was able to go from playing 2 seconds a game (the tip offs) in Junior High, to becoming a National Champion in College, to then playing 16 years as a professional (12 of which were in the NBA). It's truly one you want to pay attention to.
Major shoutout to my cousin John Elmer, who helped me land this interview with Thurl. John is a sports fan just like me. And when he was at his local gym working out, he went out of his way to communicate with Thurl who happened to be there too, and got him in contact with me! This interview wouldn't have happened without John's support and willingness to reach out for me! So for that I want to say thanks to John! Love ya man!!
I would love for all to check out Thurl's book, by going to:

I promise you one thing, after listening to this interview, you're going to see exactly why the people of Utah have embraced this man with open arms! He's a man of character, who is well-spoken and respectful to all! I've always had a respect for Thurl, but didn't truly realize how unbelievably impactful he was until I spoke with him!
Enjoy the interview!
