  • Build Muscle Without Wasting HOURS at the Gym | Tips from Tim Ferris, Jeff Nippard, Jonathan Bailor, and Dr. John Jaquish

Your typical "fit" individual spends 1-2 hours at the gym, 5 days a week. Their results: a lean physique with a decent amount of muscle.

What if there was a way to get the exact same results (if not better), with a significantly lower time investment? Somewhere in the realm of 10 minutes a day, 4 days a week.

In this episode, Randy shares some great resources for body recomposition; the process of building muscle and burning fat at the same time, while placing his priority on health, energy, and happiness. He takes bits and pieces from each book and compiles them into an actionable plan by the end of the episode.

    Books referenced:

The 4-Hour Body - Tim Ferris

Eat More, Lose More - Jonathan Bailor

The Ultimate Guide to Body Recomposition - Jeff Nippard

Weightlifting is A Waste of Time - Dr. John Jaquish

    The summarized plan:

    1. Consume generous amounts of protein mainly from lentils, beans, spinach, and vegan protein powder. (1g/lb of lean body mass)

    2. Do a 10 minute, high intensity workout to failure every other day to drive muscle growth, while giving the body adequate time for repair.

    3. Drink at least 96oz of lime/lemon water every day.

    4. Track weight and body fat averages over a period of 14 days, then increase protein if there are no results.

  • Pre-workout is Hijacking your Biochemistry
I don’t see why people do things that are counterintuitive to their goals. If your focus is to live a healthier life, why then, would you take something that puts you in a state of anxiety. This is not about science - this is about intuition. Why do you need to feel that jolt? Are you sleep-deprived? Are you too distracted by your phone without it? There are underlying causes that should be addressed, but people will always opt for the band-aid solution. Nobody’s saying so, but I think pre-workout is a bandaid solution. It’s a scam, and a waste of money. Develop healthy habits and you will have energy to workout. Plain and simple.

  • Are you talking about things that make you happy?
How often do we find ourselves feeling isolated? As if other people don’t understand us? If only they saw the TRUTH, they would understand where we’re coming from. I’ve often felt this way, and spent time hoping that someone would have a similar perspective that I do. But at the end of the day — none of us are correct. There is no right answer to life. It’s all about perspective. So the only way that we can start getting happy, is if we get over our fears and start talking about things that make us happy. Get to it. I’ll see you on the other side.
