Jesus discloses his cruciform way because it is at the cross that he intends to put to death the earthly, the unspiritual, and demonic, the winner script.The way of Jesus is the way of life and its cost is what the world says is most valuable. Greatness.

“If” is the space of self-protection; “I believe” is the space of trust.

“If” perceives a limited amount of possibilities; “I believe” is where all things are possible. “I believe” is ultimately the participatory act of life with Jesus.

This story leads us into the tension of the "if's" of our faith to meet with Jesus.
