Storyline Church

Stories are told to pass along information, share experiences, and help us internally process the world around us. Stories help us make sense of what we see, hear, and experience. Jesus told stories to help people understand who God is and how He works in our lives.

And we created this thing called Storyline!

This past Sunday, was our annual Story Sunday at the Gathering, where we heard from a few Storyliners as they share how and where they see God working in their lives.

Love More, Pt. 5: What Is It?

We use the word love constantly. We love our families, our friends, our pets, our favorite teams— but what do we actually mean by it?

This past Sunday, at the Gathering, we continued our Love More series by wondering together about what love is like: its power, its central place in our lives, and how it can be practiced, shaped and aimed.

Love More, Pt. 4: Artificial Love

Artifical intelligence could write a sympathy note, compose a prayer, remember a birthday and even sound remarkably compassionate. But could a machine actually love, and what happened to us when we let it try?

This past Sunday at Storyline's Gathering, we continued our series, Love More, by exploring why God chose imperfect people to carry his perfect love, and why learning to love could be essential to becoming fully human.

Love More, Pt. 3: Loving Your Enemies

This past Sunday, we took a look in our series, Loving More, at how we could love a special group of people... the people we didn't like. What did we do with people who had hurt or offended us? As we looked at our broken relationships, we considered how we got to this place and where we would go from here.

If you’d been part of Storyline for a while, you already knew what a gift it was to have so many talented musicians in our community.

And if you’d been around long enough, you’d probably noticed that the music at Storyline didn’t always sound quite like what you might have expected to hear at church — which was one of the things we loved about it! At this past week’s Gathering, we revisited our annual Concert Sunday with a little twist.

This year, the morning featured stories from three songwriters who had long been a presence at Storyline—Morgan Ingle, Dan Deitrich, and Mike Koch.

Along the way, we also spent some time thinking about why art mattered — how music, creativity, and storytelling could help us connect with one another, make sense of our lives, and experience faith in new ways.

Love More, Pt. 2: The Cost of Loving More

Loving more sounds wonderful - until love leads us to complicated and costly situations. This past Sunday, at Storyline's Gathering, we looked at the powerful story of Jesus at his good friend's funeral and how He loves everyone as they are... and maybe how we can too.

Love More, Pt. 1: The One Good Fear

What if the key to fearing less isn’t trying harder to be courageous—but learning to love more? This past Sunday, at Storyline Church, we wrapped up our Fear-Less series and launched Love More by exploring the Bible’s surprising idea of “the fear of God.” We discovered why God’s grace doesn’t give us more to fear—it frees us from having anything to prove and empowers us to live lives of love.
