Satan wants to convince us that where we are is where we'll always be, but the promise that God made to Abraham when He passed through the sacrifice in Genesis 15 is for us today as well: because He passed through, we'll pass through, too. Creeds help us know what matters most, but also to grow with who matters most. The end result of all that? Unity, and nothing opens up the church to the blessings of God more than that. The church can thrive in seasons of persecution, but she has never thrived in seasons of division. Creeds help us fight against the things that try to divide us.

For most of us, the word creed reminds us of a movie or a band. But in the early church, creeds reminded followers of Jesus that the things they had in common were far more important than the things they didn't.

Sometimes we can be guilty of saying that we believe in what Jesus did on the cross for us without actually being willing to do the work that the cross requires of us. In week 2 of Remix, Paul shows us from Ephesians 2-4 what Jesus accomplished on the cross and how our lives should be lived as a result, especially when it comes to the things that divide us.
