JM gives a disapproving report on the 2017 Royal Rumble. Apparently more was done to maintain a status quo than to advance wrestlers and storylines. Eight matches were contested at the event, including three on the pre-show. The event saw Randy Orton win the titular Royal Rumble match in the main event by last eliminating Roman Reigns, making him the seventh multiple Rumble winner. Also, John Cena defeated AJ Styles in the penultimate match to capture his record thirteenth WWE Championship and his sixteenth overall world championship, tying Ric Flair's record.

We remember one of our original crushes - Mary Tyler Moore, beloved TV actress, icon, and pioneer, has passed away at 80. Best known as one of tv's most beloved wives, Laura Petrie on The Dick Van Dyke Show, she was a groundbreaking actress and producer who broke barriers portraying single, 30-something women in the working world when there were few represented, and a passionate advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. On January 25th, aspiration pneumonia, hypoxia (lack of oxygen to the tissues) also contributed to Moore’s death after a decades-long battle with diabetes mellitus.
