On this 7th episode of the JAAOS Unplugged podcast series, host Andy Jensen, MD, summarizes two research articles from the July 15, 2019 issue of JAAOS: The Perception of Pregnancy and Parenthood Among Female Orthopaedic Surgery Residents, and Inappropriate Questions Asked of Female Orthopaedic Surgery Applicants From 1971 to 2015: A Cross-sectional Study.

 

Following the article summaries, Dr. Jensen interviews AAOS President Kristy Weber, MD and Alana Munger, MD of Yale University to discuss the current state of the gender gap in orthopaedic surgery, including findings from Dr. Munger’s research article “Revisiting the Gender Gap in Orthopaedic Surgery: Investigating the Relationship Between Orthopaedic Surgery Female Faculty and Female Residency Applicants” from the April 15th, 2019 issue of JAAOS.
