Glen Huser has written short stories, poetry and novels for readers of all ages, however he joined us in the CJSW studios to chat specifically about his work in the realm of young adult fiction. He was the recipient of a Governor General’s Literary Award in 2003 for his book Stitches and in 2007 his book Skinnybones and the Wrinkle Queen received a GG silver medal. in 2013 he created the text and lyrics for Time for Flowers, Time for Snow, a children’s musical along with a picture book and CD.

Barbara Reid has written over twenty books including Picture a Tree, The Subway Mouse and Welcome, Baby. Her stories are brought to life with the help of her distinct Plasticine illustrations. Reid was the recipient of the General’s Award for Illustration for The Party in 1997. Her latest book is a version of the classic The Night Before Christmas.

Wallace Edwards was the recipient of the 2002 Governor General's Award for his book Alphabeasts. His books including The Cat’s Pajamas, The Extinct Files and Mixed Beasts meld Wallace’s highly fanciful and colourful art with descriptions of animals, both real and imagined. His latest book Uncle Wally’s Old Brown Shoe continues this trend.

A very special round table discussion with Marie-Louise Gay, Wallace Edwards, Barbara Reid and Glen Huser. All four authors are multifaceted artists who use their illustrations, paintings, plasticine sculptures and music to bring their art to life.
