From the Gurdon Light to the Boggy Creek Monster, Arkansas is no stranger to paranormal beings and spooky activity, but the 1886 Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs stands above the rest. Dubbed “America’s Most Haunted Hotel,” the Crescent Hotel is said to be home to a number of ghostly residents.

“Our guests and employees have told us about hundreds of different paranormal encounters and experiences over the years,” said Bill Ott, director of marketing and communications at the Crescent Hotel. “A lot of these stories have been around for the last 130 years that we’ve been here.”

Ott shared more about the eerie happenings and discoveries at the Crescent Hotel with host Zach Parker on the latest episode of The Ghidotti Podcast, during a tour of the campus. He shared detailed accounts from some of the spirits that have made their presence felt over the years.

Adena White is stepping out of her comfort zone to make a difference. A self-described introvert, White recently launched the Blackbelt Voices podcast to give a voice to black Southerners.

“We’re excited to tell the stories of black people making a change in the South,” White said. “I think centering those other voices is important for all of us. It’s not that we’re excluding someone. We’re just centering voices that are often unheard, and I think it’s important for all of us to learn from other people.”

Courtney Little always has his eyes on the future. After purchasing the family business, ACE Glass Construction, in 2008, Little has since grown the organization into three different companies with the addition of ACE Glass Manufacturing and Recycling.

ACE Glass Recycling, Little’s most recent venture, became a priority when he realized how much glass his company was using. “I hate waste,” Little said. “If my company can put things back in stream or even pay a little extra to recycle it instead of throwing it away, we’re going to try to do the right things.”

Gina Radke wears many hats. While serving as owner and CEO of Galley Support Innovations and an international trade advisor to Congress, Radke still found the time to write her first book, More Than: How to Be Bold and Balanced in Life and Business.

Radke describes it as a book for women in business. “It really went against everything I wanted to write about when I started writing a book for women, but I had to do it,” she said. “It just began to pour out of me when I began to write it towards women.”

For those looking to invest, real estate, stocks and bonds come to mind, but Carter Malloy offers another opportunity. Malloy is the founder and CEO of AcreTrader, which provides investors “direct access to the highly attractive asset class of farmland.”

The son of a rice and soybean farmer, Malloy grew up around farmlands at an early age, but didn’t realize their investment potential until he began buying and selling farmland with his dad while working for a long/short equity hedge fund in San Francisco.

“In that process of investing with him, I realized the returns on farmland were pretty great,” Malloy said. “I started doing some more work and researching, and realized that this is a huge asset that has produced vast amounts of wealth over generations.”
