The Sizwe Kupelo Foundation is calling for a
ban against having pit bulls as domestic pets in South
Africa. The call comes in the wake of a spate of vicious
killings involving the breed. An online petition has
garnered more than 5 000 signatures. We now speak to

in the Cape2Rio yacht race taking place in January next
year. The 22-year-old from Engcobo in the Eastern Cape
is the only woman in the 6-member team. She joins us

One of South Africa’s independent schools,
Curro is launching afternoon only classes for late
sleepers. The school says the classes will be held
between 13:45 and 18:30 and its currently available to

New reported amendments in the ministerial
handbook exempt members of the cabinet from paying for
municipal services such as water and electricity at their
official residences. Previously there was a limit of R5, 000.
According to the handbook, the Public Works Department is
responsible for providing water and electricity. We now get
reaction from Cosatu spokesperson Sizwe Pamla.

The Gauteng High Court has ruled that a
cheating wife will forfeit half of her husband’s pension
money because she left him and the children for other
men. The couple is married in community of property,
however the husband said his wife is a cheater and
shouldn’t be entitled to his pension. He made reference
to many instances of cheating including a time where
she left the home for months and came back with a
baby. We now speak to Tapiwa Diamond who is a Legal
