The Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa says it’s unlikely that it will be able to add the names of parties whose names are omitted from the Local Government Elections ballot paper.

The IEC says these parties, which include Herman Mashaba’s ActionSA did not provide an abbreviated name or acronym when registering their parties with the IEC.

This means that they will only have their logo and names of the ward candidate featured on the November 1 ballot paper.

We now hear from Lerato Ngobeni from ActionSA and thereafter we’ll speak to Mawethu Mosery, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer at the IEC.

INTERVIEW: The personal safety and security of health workers and patients remains unaddressed, particularly for those working in the public sector. The doctors represented by the South African Medical Association held a webinar where they detailed some of the incidents of attacks. We now speak to Dr. Angelique Coetzee who is the Chairperson of the South African Medical Association.

ARTS: The Events Technical Production Transformation Forum is holding a series of consultations which started on Monday and will go on until 08th of October 2021. Transformation is taking place at a slow pace and there are still areas in the value chain that are not transformed.
