When Rosie Chuong graduated from college, she took the first step toward healing from her childhood trauma: finding a job that would prevent her from having to rely on anyone else. She applied to dozens of organizations. Only one called her in for an interview, but it was there that she met Jess, who not only became her boss but also her advocate, friend, and proxy family member. Jack and I had always had a psychic connection. We could read each other’s thoughts, and sometimes we even shared dreams. But after hurting each other for years, we stopped talking for a decade.
