Kids be Aware is a 501c3 nonprofit which organizes seminars, workshops, and so much more in order to educate and empower children. Their goal is for children to adopt healthy lifestyle behaviors. Dr Susan Ruiz, Chairwoman for Kids Be Aware, Inc. talks about her nonprofit’s mission to educate children and parents about infectious and chronic diseases. This show answers the question how to increase disease awareness in schools, at home, and in the community. Dr Ruiz received her PhD at Walden University specializing in Health Psychology.

Every parent, child advocate, and teacher will want to listen to the show. Additionally, Dr Ruiz discusses her research interest in the support of spouses/partners of veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Dr Ruiz’s desire is to collaborate with non-profits and professional organizations that support this population to continue on with her research .
