In this episode of The Grind Culture Detox, host Heather Archer speaks with Acupuncturist and multi-skilled healer Chris Pearson. Chris talks about how he approaches healing in his acupuncture practice. He shares how to create wellness using the primary elements of breath, food, movement and rest.
Chris and Heather discuss topics like the role a patient‘s state of mind plays in healing. They cover how boundaries and choices work in clinical settings to help people heal. Chris stresses the role that spending time outside in nature plays in fostering good health and creating a healing flow state. He relates his experiences in working with youth and intergenerational groups to encourage dialogue around the issues that affect them.
Near the end of the interview, Chris demonstrates a dispersal technique from Qi gong that you can use to de-stress after a long day of work.
About Chris Pearson: In the spirit of synergy and holism Christopher brings together a myriad of professional experiences- ranging from anti-oppression and diversity training to coaching youth basketball. Christopher applies the awareness these experiences have provided towards his healing practice and has obtained a master's of science in traditional. Oriental medicine, a BA in psychology with a minor in religious studies and an OBT Oriental body therapist.
With more than 10 years of experience in diversity trainings and serving for seven years as a massage therapy instructor, Chris has become proficient in the art of making transitions into new awareness easy by linking complex ideas into simple lifestyle modifications. In bodywork since 1996, Chris has been educated in the practice of tui na, shiatsu, acupressure, deep tissue and sports massage. In all of his sessions, Christopher uses a holistic approach to client-based support by utilizing nutritional therapy, somatic psychology, biomechanical efficiency, and the deep ecology of consciousness.
