Blanche's mammy comes to town. She breaks the news to Blanche that she and her father had a longstanding affair with each other. Sophia is up to her tricks. She's hired a matchmaker to set Dorothy up with a date.

Dorothy meets Jimmy on Sophia's Meals on Wheels route. He's not left his apartmen tin 22 years. Meanwhile, Rose is trying to fing out Blanche's real birthday to throw her a suprise birthday party.

Rose is having a yard sale. Blanche detests it and buys all her stuff for $50. Turns out there are 50 $1,000 St. Olaf war bonds and Blanche feels like she hit the jackpot. Only cashing out the bonds will bankrupt St. Olaf. Meanhwhile, Stan has created a baked potato opener that is actually a success. He tries to buy everyone's love without much succeess.

Rose meets her natural father (she was adopted by the Lindstroms). We all get to learn Rose's creatation story along with her. Sophia has a hernia and needs surgery. She's been telling everyone that it's because Dorothy made her move a couch (it was wicker) when the reality is she and her friends moved someone's car. She does have the surgery, but she gets lost in the hospital too.

Becky is in town. Blanche's daughter is now very pregnant from IVF and close to her due date. She wants to have the baby there, but Blanche is more worried about what all the men she dates at the hospitals will think. Mother nature decides Becky is having the baby. Blanche comes through in the delivery room as a supportive mom to Becky in the end. Meanwhile, Rose has taken up ice skating to make her parents proud.

The president is coming to town to open a new senior citizen center just down the block. The girls are in the running to possibly meet the president during this time. A secrect servive agent has come to vet them. They each speak with him one by one and retell some of their best moments in the series so far. Dorothy wants to give him a piece of her mind.

Dorothy's ex Glenn, the cheater from four years prior, suddenly reappears divorced and single and after Dorothy. But does he love Dorothy or just want someone to take care of all the household stuff in the way he's used to? Blanche and Sophia go to the mall. They find a wallet with a large sum of money in it. They get conned.

Blanche's sister has written a book. Blanche thinks she wrote about her life. Stan's cousin Magda is visiting. Her country had a revolution and will no longer be a communist country but a free country. This change scares her.
