Through this series, I pray you are starting to understand what the good news is and why you need it, and even how to pray it.  So what’s next?  Well this is for sure the hardest part; living it out on a daily basis.  It’s simple but yet not always easy.  One reason it’s not so easy is because we’ve forgotten what it truly means to be a Christian.  So, what does it mean to be a Christian?  Many might think that believing in Jesus is the answer.  But that’s not really it. Tonight, we will continue the series “Becoming the gospel” and talk about “Praying the good news".  At the time of Salvation, our spirit is perfect.  However our soul consisting of our mind, thoughts and emotions must be transformed. The way for this transformation to take place is submitting to God’s will on a daily basis.  The best way is through prayer along with God’s Word. Jesus showed us how to pray.  JOIN US!

Tonight we discuss “Entering the Good News”.  The Gospel is an invitation to not just learn the Good News story, but to enter and experience the good news story.  Knowing Jesus personally is an experience.  It’s not about learning the history of Jesus but experiencing His love, mercy, and kindness and through that experience you will be transformed.

"Why Do We Need The Good News?"

The late Chuck Colson wrote, “The consequences of sin affect the very order of the universe itself.  Most people have a narrow understanding of the term sin.  We tend to think it means that we have broken a few rules, made a few mistakes.  So we apologize and get on with our lives, right?  Wrong.  Sin is much more than breaking the rules.  God created an intricate, interwoven cosmos, each part depending on the others, all governed by laws of order and harmony.  Sin affects every part of that order and harmony---twisting, fracturing, distorting, and corrupting it".

To become the gospel, you must first define the gospel. Many people's definition of the gospel is not complete.  Their definition is the middle of the story but leaves out the beginning and the ending.  Think of it like this; if you missed the first and last 30 minutes of a movie, it would really be difficult to understand everything happening in the middle. Right?  Tonight, we are going to fill in the blanks on 'What is the Gospel'.

CHRISTIANS DON’T JUDGE THE WORLD

 “That Task Belongs to God”

 Paul in 1 Corinthian 5:12a (NLT) say,  12 "It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders.  Judging the world belongs to God, not us!"  

So Christians leave that alone.

GOD’S GUIDANCE THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT

The most important privilege believers are given is the Holy Spirit.  God sent his Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ to live inside of you and me.  He’s the free gift of God, the undeserved privilege given to enable you to understand God’s love for you so that you can become more like Jesus.  Tonight we will discuss how God guides us through His Holy Spirit.

 Because of God’s sovereignty, He can lead you one way using one method of guidance and then lead me in a totally different way.  God specializes in individualized instruction; he knows what to do in order to get each of his children on track.  No matter what guiding method God decides to use in your life, I encourage you to be ready, willing and receptive.  Tonight we will cover God’s Guidance using “Dreams”.
