"HEAVEN IS REAL" - PART ONE

We all have a shelf life. One hundred years from now, very few of us listening to this today will still be on this side of eternity.  So here is a true fact.  100% of the people alive today will die, unless Jesus returns in our generation.

Tonight we are going to talk about “Living for eternity while here on earth”  I recently read a quote by C.S. Lewis.  It said, “If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world.”

That got me to thinking that believers in Jesus Christ live in two realms.  We live on two planes of existence at the same time.

“Thy Will Be Done”

What I have discovered is that living life as a Christian requires our will and desires to always take a backseat to God’s will for our lives.  If you truly want to live a successful life of peace and prosperity, relinquish what you want and trust God by submitting your desires, your will over to Him.  In fact I have discovered that the less I focus on what I want and need and more on seeking God’s will in my life, not only are all my needs met but God provides over and above what I can imagine.

"KNOW WHO YOU ARE AS A CHRISTIAN"

When you don’t know who you are, you will attempt to copy the ways of others trying to figure out how to fit in.  When you don’t know who you are you envy other peoples’ lifestyles and look to them for advice and approval.  People pay hundreds and thousands of dollars going to life coaches, seminars, workshops in order to copy or mimic what looks like someone else’s successes. A new healthy baby starts to grow immediately.  As long as they are receiving the right nutrition, you can see the physical growth of a baby in a very short time. In just a few weeks, you see them change from that small wrinkled infant into more of what they are going to look like.  You are saved.  You have been born again.  A new birth; new way of life in Christ Jesus. What comes after that?  It's time to grow and mature spiritually.

BE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Jesus Christ is the Light of the World and is here to Unite and bring Peace.  As His light reflectors, our thoughts, words, deeds and actions must reveal the Love, Unity and Peace of Jesus Christ. We who live in the Light of the Lord recognize the battle is Spiritual and therefore we utilize the weapons of the Holy Spirit and find peace in a war already won.

BE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

"Christ is Alive in You"

It only takes one light bulb to illuminate an entire room that would otherwise be filled with darkness.  However, the light bulb in itself does not create the light independently, it must be connected to a much more powerful source.  In the same way we are called to be vessels that carry the light and power of the love of Jesus Christ.  We have the potential to radiate the transforming power of God.
