It's Lukas' Birthday (2 days ago), which can only mean 1 thing... We are sacrificing him to the gods! And those gods must be crazy for wanting him, because this week, Lukas picked one of his favorite movies, "The Gods Must Be Crazy". Take a dive into why Lukas loves this early 1980's film so much, and the nostalgia he has surrounding it. In this South African film, we follow the story of Xi, a member of the Sand tribe, as he tries to return a coke bottle that he believes has been gifted to his tribe from the gods. Along the way, we experience slapstick humor, apartheid, and LOVE! How do you say the main actors name (spelled N!xau)? Why is Seth taking his shirt off? And what is our opinions on Frito pies? Tune in this week to find out all this and more, but only on "The Good, The Bad, & The Movies"!
What happens when a hard-boiled cop goes through a wormhole in space and lands on Earth? Well, he obviously turns into a 13-inch man! And that, ladies is gentlemen, is all you really need to captivate you into watching the classic B-movie "Dollman". For once, the three of us finished recording in under 2 hours, and we are just as shocked as you are based on the crazy tangents we went on. Why does Seth love the name Brick Bardo so much? Do the "Goosebumps" and "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" songs sound similar? And why in the world has Nicole Kidman entered the UFC octagon? Tune in this week to find out all this and more, but only on "The Good, The Bad, & The Movies"!
We are so close to leaving paradise on our 2nd half of the penultimate episode of "Paradise Hotel"! On this week's episode of "TV Talk", Brandon tries to order room service, the houseguests participate in a challenge, and Lukas makes up words for our hottie ratings. Get ready for an episode that pits new and former couples against each other in challenges, and in a scramble to form relationships for the end of their time here in paradise. Oh, and apparently this is the last checkout ceremony left. We literally have no clue how the rest of the houseguests will be narrowed down to the winners, but I guess we will have to find out. Why does Bobby Ray flip out at Tatum? Do you really not have ANY passions if you love things? And what is the actual number for room service in paradise? Tune in this week to find out all this and more, but only on "The Good, The Bad, & The Movies"!
She is back! And it is her birthday! This week, we are joined by one of the beloved returning guests on the show, Marina! And this week, for her birthday, she picked her greatest guilty pleasure/favorite film in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" from 1971. And do not even mention to her the 2005 remake "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, or things will get very heated like they did in this episode. Join us in this podcast to a world of pure imagination. One filled with chocolate, Oompa Loompas, tricks around every corner, and a bed so large it can house 4 grandparents for decades. Is Gene Wilder's performance in this one of the greatest performances in acting? How would the grandparents DoorDash food to their bed? And how much porn did Seth rent as a child on his parent's television? Tune in this week to find out all this and more, but only on "The Good, The Bad, & The Movies"!
Big week on "TV Talk"! Double elimination and we are losing OG houseguests. Also, breaking news... Carlos is a sleaze bag and Tatum is a real slimy friend and girlfriend. But I think we kinda knew those things already. Let's take some time away from the Tyler drama this episode, and get into all the drama of the full house again. New people get to come into the house, but not just guys or girls. We get them all! Hot bods are entering left and right and it is almost too much to handle in the house. Which girl does Carlos keep around in the house? How romantic did Bobby Ray make his first time having sex with Tatum? And what role did Lukas play in his elementary school performance of "The Sound of Music"? Tune in this week to find out all this and more, but only on "The Good, The Bad, & The Movies"!
If you loved or hated either "Top Gun" or "2001: A Space Odyssey", oh boy do we have a movie for you this week. This week, we watched "Stealth", a film about elite trained Navy fighter pilots who are joined by a new AI pilot that gains self-awareness and ends up making its own decisions. Sounds eerily similar right? This movie is loaded with action, CGI, the hottest Incubus album from 2005, and it is all done by someone not named Michael Bay. How much net profit did this blockbuster movie end up making? What happened to Seth's arm? And what is the perfect template to make it huge on "American Idol"? Tune in this week to find out all these answers and more, but only on "The Good, The Bad, & The Movies"!
This is no ordinary "TV Talk"! This week, the Paradise Pals are here to deep dive into the horrors and beauties that arise from past relationships being brought into reality television. This episode primarily focuses on the impacts of Tyler's ex-girlfriend, Shailee, joining the hotel, and how the two of them, along with Rosanna and the rest of the house, deal with the new twist Kristin has dealt the houseguests. For once in this show, the contestants act civil, all while being placed in the most tortuous of situations. OH and one last thing... there is a check-out ceremony tonight and 2 women will be leaving the house!!! How serious of a couple were Tyler and Shailee? How many women can Carlos (aka Papi Saizon) choose from now? And who did Jesus Christ bring into the fantasy suites with him? Tune in to find out all this and more, but only on "The Good, The Bad, & The Movies"!
Oh boy! What a film we just watched. This week, us 3 boys dive into an early Linklater classic known as "School of Rock". This movie is a cult classic, but oddly in a weird way where critics are the ones bolstering its' name far more than the general audience. So we thought it was the perfect movie to review here. Follow us on the journey of a man pretending to be his roommate as a substitute teacher. What he started doing for money quickly turns into a genius plan to form a band, and a passion for teaching these kids in his class. Does this school's band end up winning battle of the bands? How does Jack Black consume cocaine? And why are we so sorry? Tune in this week to find out all this and more, but only on "The Good, The Bad, & The Movies"!
OMG it is the episode we have all been waiting for! And we definitely had to split this 90 minute episode into 2 parts because the show has finally moved away from 4 episodes/week to 1 episode/week, which means we have so much to unpack! In this episode of "TV Talk", we get introduced to not 1, not 2, but 3 new girls. Also, we finally get the falling apart of Carlos and Mariaelena. Even more, we get turmoil in paradise for the power couple of Tyler and Rosanna. And lastly, we have someone be voted out of the house on the spot without a checkout ceremony! There is so much drama, so much character development, and the best cinematography of the show to date. What girl did America vote in? Does flipping someone off mean they need to come and comfort you? And why are we talking about Hitler's Regime? Tune in this week to find out all this and more, but only on "The Good, The Bad, & The Movies"!
Who's that Pokémon? It's Birthday Seth! And for Seth's birthday, he wanted to watch "Pokémon: The First Movie". In this episode, we dive into the philosophical existence of the genetically created Pokémon named Mewtwo, and his battles with the purpose of life, Ash Ketchum and crew, and humanity as a whole. Additionally, we also get some voice messages on anchor for some kind words and beer recommendations for this week. Which listener of ours sent us a donation and beer recommendations? Why won't Brandon shut up about his movie trailer idea? And why is Mr. Mime fucking your mother? Tune in this week to find out all these answers and more, but only on "The Good, The Bad, & The Movies"!
(P.S. Sorry for such a long episode, we aren't super proud of it)
