Ryan & Prescott are here to talk it over after the Buffalo Sabres' 2025–26 season came to an end in overtime of Game 7 of the second round against the Montreal Canadiens. Oh, but what a season it was! For many years to come, fans will bond over the belief and disbelief of this run.

There’s the immediate aftermath of Game 7 and what went wrong against the Habs, but there’s also the big-picture discussion of a Sabres franchise that looks as healthy as it has in a generation. Monday night sucked, but there’s still plenty to celebrate.

Ryan & Prescott somehow get ten minutes of discussion out of the Bills beginning their OTA program in Orchard Park. They didn’t black out, and neither will you.

The show ends with a chat about Arsenal winning the Premier League after a 22-year wait. Winning a major trophy after such a long journey isn’t just sweet, it changes a fan’s DNA and behavior in a positive way. My, what a difference two games make, eh? Ryan & Prescott pick up the pieces after the Sabres are outscored 11-3 over two games against the Canadiens. There’s plenty of blame to go around, plus a deep dive into the state of the roster before a critical Game 4 in Montreal. Despite back-to-back drubbings, there are still reasons for optimism. No, really!

Shortly before recording, the NFL announced that the Bills will open the new Highmark Stadium in Week 2 on Thursday Night Football against the Detroit Lions. The NFL doesn’t care about the paying customer, only the next customer. It's discussed.

The fellas finish with a chat about a massive weekend in the English Premier League that ended with Arsenal one step closer to the title, Liverpool one step closer to putting this season behind them, and Tottenham one step closer to the heat death of the universe.

There will be another episode this week (likely hitting your feeds Friday) for patrons of the show. Well, it's happened: Nate Geary from WGR 550 appeared on the Goose's Roost. With Ryan still living it up on vacation, and everyone else in town unavailable, Prescott welcomed his dear friend Nate to the show to discuss a jampacked weekend of Buffalo sports. The show mostly stayed on the rails.

The Sabres laid down a warning to the rest of the East with a drubbing of the Bruins in Boston. Lindy Ruff is pushing all the right buttons and his boys can clinch their first series win since 2007 on Tuesday. There's a lot to be impressed about, and Prescott & Nate are feeling the excitement.

Meanwhile, the local football team selected ten players in the 2026 NFL Draft. While there's still many questions about the Bills that can only be answered in due time, the Draft did illuminate some of the team's roster philosophy moving forward. After a slow start to the Draft, the guys believe this could end up as one of the best of the Brandon Beane era in Buffalo. Or maybe this class stinks, who knows?

Ryan will be back in Boston later this week. Hopefully the Sabres close out their series with the Bruins, and we can bring you another episode before next week. With everything happening in Buffalo sports right now, and Ryan on vacation south of the border, it was the perfect time for another classic Triple Threat Pod beyond the Patreon wall.

This week, Prescott brought back longtime friends of the pod, Robin Griswold and Victoria Zeller, to break down the 2026 (yes, that’s right) NFL Draft while the 2nd and 3rd rounds were taking place. The Bills traded down three times in Round 1, only to make two uninspired picks on Day 2. Those are authentic, unrehearsed crashouts from Victoria, folks.

As for actual games taking place, the Sabres retook control of their first-round series against the Bruins with a 3-1 win Thursday night. The crew discusses what went right, what can carry over into Game 4 and beyond, and tries to fix the daggum power play that keeps stinking up the joint.

Joe had lots of great details about what it's been like to cover this Sabres team in an incredibly fascinating season, and had a lot to say about Lindy Ruff's coaching job, the goaltending matchup in the first round, and what players might surprise you as the playoffs get underway.

Ryan & Prescott reflect on another great showing on the road by the Sabres as the team clinched their first division title since 2010. They weave the team's 5-1 win in Chicago into the larger narrative of this season and the interminable playoff drought that came before. Sabres Vibes are reaching all-time highs in this moment before the postseason begins. There's the unexpected-but-welcomed joy of all that's taken place so far, and the giddy excitement about what might be around the corner. To quote Bob Costas, "You're excited?! Feel these nipples!"
